I don’t like having Yerzy and Madris playing today. Unless Bernal is banged up, he should play most every day. And Jordan needs to play ahead of these 2. Between catcher, dh and first base there isn’t enough playing time. Catcher is a tough position that needs repetitions for young players. I’d have preferred to see Crooks at Memphis and Bernal at Springfield. Unless Crooks makes the big league club, which I don’t think the FO was going to do unless an injury occurred, I would have kept Bernal at AA.

Brian, the Cardinals websites don’t seem to have Bruno Lopez on any team that I can find. Does that mean he will stay back for extended ST or has he been released? (I also can’t find Hansen on any team roster (except yours) although his player page on the Cards site has him at Springfield.) Is this just a matter of an abundance of changes to teams and some names falling through the cracks?

When teams announce their roster, they usually only list active players. There are a handful of guys I will look into. Lopez is one of them. MiLB can be incomplete and sloppy sometimes but I am far from perfect, too.

    This transaction was also made:
04/04/26 – Palm Beach Cardinals placed 3B Michael Dattalo on the 7-day injured list.

Salazar was activated according to the Palm Beach roster

Shuster up and to 40 man, Roycroft to AAA, and Raquet DFA’ed.

I’m glad to see anyone else get a shot at relief innings other than Roycroft

I am not sure the sense in a 40 man move to accomplish replacing a guy who can’t get anyone out with a guy who hasn’t gotten anyone out for several years. But good luck to him.

I doubt Shuster is great or even good but he can’t be any worse than Roycroft

This appears to be a pretty ho-hum PTBNL. But hey – at least he’s healthy – unlike about 15 of our minor league pitchers.

Cardinals Prospect Hancel Rincón to Make Triple-A Debut

With the Memphis rotation in need of bolstering, RHS Hancel Rincon has been promoted

It seems perplexing. Rincon is already out of runway, here this year on a minor league contract. He either makes the 40 man this year or likely leaves, and is just now reaching AAA. So I get that they want to move up. On the other hand, in his lone AA appearance this year he came on in relief and went 2 IP. So he cannot be said to be stretched out even if it was styled a piggyback. Plus, he only has 50 IP of AA experience. A super slow mover who is at risk of being out of his league in AAA.

OK, I’ll bite. Who would you put in the Memphis rotation instead and why?

Rincon pitched very well in his time in AA last year and he also was the piggy back in AA. To me only good news for him to be promoted as he is probably ready and it gets him more IP. I realize others stick to a stringent you must play an entire calendar year at a level schedule though.
