Oh well, I still have a feeling they are going to lose him in the long run. Probably for nothing. It’s one reason they are a losing organization.

It’s getting down to crunch time boys.

    Everybody ready?

I wish I could let everybody know what I already know but I’ve been told to keep things quiet.

    Stay tuned……

Jbrodie7, Walker has not played another position other than 3B. However, it is believed that he could be a good right fielder or first baseman. The smart thing for the team in his development is to continue to play him at the hardest position until it is proven that he is not needed there. Until Arenado does not out out this year, he is not blocked at 3B.

I’ve been thinking all along that there was no way that Juan Soto was heading our way……but now I’m not so sure. It certainly has the feel that a big St. Louis transaction is in the works, but it very well could be for a significant player who is not presently on anyone’s radar. Let’s hope we’re in for a nice surprise come tomorrow around 3:30pm(cst).

Me too, JohnBrodie. The thought of either Walker or Winn…..or God forbid both, leaving, greatly troubles me. I can’t wait until tomorrow……kind of like a little kid waiting anxiously to open Christmas presents.

I see the Cards making an offer, but not enough for the Nats.

Montas to the Yankees. I can’t say I’m disappointed. Think we may have dodged an issue with him. A’s pitchers always make me nervous from an injury point.

As of now Soto is in the lineup for Washington’s game tonight.

I wouldn’t mind them picking up a bat, of course. However, the greatest need is for a solid set up reliever.

The starting pitching needs help a lot of help other than Mikolas and he is not an ace this rotation can’t compare to Mets, Braves, Dodgers, Padres…even the Brewers. This pitching staff is not good.

I agree Oliver. Unfortunately Soto mania seems to be ruling the day.

I don’t know how he “looks” at 3rd, but he has committed 18 errors and has a .905 fielding % this year.

At AAA, they probably need to transition him to the outfield.

Does Walker have a right field arm or a left field arm? Or a DH arm?

Walker is noted to have a strong arm.

Also, it’s a little premature to say he can’t be a good defender with certainty. Many players commit a lot of errors in the minors and then become good defenders later.

I think Walker follows Pujols’ track and ends up being a first baseman – the heir apparent to Goldschmidt.

Hoping we do not bring in Soto as I think it might make the Ozuna trade look like a minor mistake in comparison. Get a decent pitcher or two without mortgaging the future, although maybe that is not possible.

Love this kid. I agree 1B or RF a la Dave Winfield. He has some of Dave in him in my book.

Yep, and he will be manning 3B in St. Louis for a few more years to come thank goodness.
