stlcard25ParticipantI think Baker is an ok choice. Realistically, what “hot name” coach is going to want to step into that mess?
January 29, 2020 at 6:20 pm #121013This is pretty interesting and has a ton of data. One unknown variable, though, is he doesn’t account for the times there wasn’t a bang during an bat when there was banging going on.
I’m an Astros fan. To understand the scope of the Astros cheating & the players involved, I logged every trashcan bang from every Astros 2017 home game w/ video available. Over 8,200 pitches watched and over 1,100 trashcan bangs found. The results are at https://t.co/kVtisgUo74.

January 30, 2020 at 7:02 pm #121083Vaguely and there a reason why that is. lol

stlcard25ParticipantThe Rays front office certainly seems to know what they’re doing. The Cards were sort of seen in that light about 8-10 years ago. I’ve got no love lost for Houston, but this one was a good hire for them.
February 4, 2020 at 8:51 am #121371The Rays have lost both Bloom and Click from their front office recently, not to mention Friedman a few years ago. It is amazing that one front office could have that much talent. Now it is just Erik Neander left.
February 5, 2020 at 8:35 am #121460From the twisted mind of Pete Rose:
None of this alters the fact that Rose is #StillGuilty, still serving the punishment he earned, and deserves no special consideration whatsoever because of completely unrelated events. https://t.co/RKNkV2pAej

Kind of reminds me when the Cardinals lost basically their entire Analytics Department when Houston hired them.
February 7, 2020 at 11:17 am #121645The fallout of MLB's electronic sign-stealing scandal widens as MLB, the Astros and the Red Sox are sued in multiple federal lawsuits brought by daily fantasy sports contestants who allege unlawful business practices. February 7, 2020 at 11:25 am #121646I wonder if Pete Rose is involved in any of those lawsuits? 😉
Am I the only one amused by the bookmarkers setting a betting line on Pete Rose's reinstatement? (Yes 5/1 odds, No 1/10)

February 7, 2020 at 11:29 am #121648Local Houston media already getting defensive about Hinch’s interview to be aired tonight.
Personally, I don’t get it. For me, it was already established that Hinch is a wimp. He let it all happen around him. So his interview points are wimpy, too. Why is that surprising?

February 7, 2020 at 4:29 pm #121686This makes the whole report about Luhnow not knowing about the cheating seem inadequate.
EXCLUSIVE: A January letter from Rob Manfred to Jeff Luhnow reveals the Astros "dark arts" and "Codebreaker" — the operation behind the Astros' sign-stealing scandal.https://t.co/wrh3EJCICy

February 7, 2020 at 4:36 pm #121689Lunhow is a worm and a cheat. He’s getting what he deserves.
February 7, 2020 at 4:40 pm #121690Triple, did you read the article? Based on the article Luhnow had his hands a lot dirtier than Manfred’s report stated. In fact the argument could be made he was the mastermind behind the cheating and even lied to MLB investigators about his role in the entire thing. He didn’t get what he deserved, he got off ultimately light because if the WSJ article is true Luhnow should have gotten a lifetime ban.
February 7, 2020 at 5:04 pm #121694I get the point and may agree, but I think Luhnow is radioactive from here out in MLB, anyway.
February 7, 2020 at 5:43 pm #121697I agree with Brian. I think he’s gone for good, or, any future role he may have will be a big downgrade.
I’d say it’s likely he did all the things that Correa (or whomever the Cardinals wanna be hacker was) suspected him of doing. Dude doesn’t have standup bone in his body.
February 8, 2020 at 3:57 am #121705What a sadly pathetic losers, they should never again be part of the game.
February 10, 2020 at 12:32 pm #121923First gamblers suing and now players. The lawyers will again be the winners.

ParticipantGood for Bolsinger. The cheating of the Astros effects the opposition players stats as well as the Ws&Ls. This may become a slippery slope.
How many honest players were hurt because of the past drug users. People forget the for real human side.
February 10, 2020 at 6:32 pm #121962Faced 8 batters. Got 1 out. Hasn’t pitched in majors since. He may just get laughed out of court. How can he ever prove that his pitches were stolen. Was he even in Astros park for this appearance. Not a chance of a dime.
February 11, 2020 at 3:59 am #121993The more I hear, the more I wonder … how can any owner hire Luhnow, Hinch or Cora for a leadership role in their organization?
My youngest son felt these guys got off “light” when the penalties were announced. I thought he was over reacting. Then more info continues to come out …
February 11, 2020 at 12:45 pm #122066I remember trying this defense when I got caught playing dodgeball in the schoolyard at recess. It didn’t work there, either.
Joe Musgrove with an interesting quote on the Astros' sign-stealing mess: "If MLB did an investigation as thorough as they did on the Astros with every team in baseball, they’re going to find a lot more than they want to find."
