Wheeler’s demonstrating why it’s nice to have a first rate SP’er lined up to work the opener of a post-season series. Philly up 1-0 and Wheeler at 89 pitches through 6. I’m letting him work in the 7th if I’m on the top step.

Wheeler turns in 7 innings of shutout work on 111 pitches. That’s only 1 more pitch than it took for Chris Carpenter to work through a CG shutout 13 years ago in the same ballpark. Anyone who watched that baseball game saw one of the best pitching duels in post-season baseball history.

Wheeler exits after 7 and now Hoffman allows the first two Mets to reach in the 8th. Hardly ever fails.

Mets now tie it up in the 8th and have baserunners at 2B and 3B with no outs. Should have left Carpent…er uh…Wheeler in there…

Another Met’s RBI base hit to take a 2-1 lead. Baserunners at the corners and still no outs.

5-1 Mets in the 8th now.

Are the Mets the team of destiny in 2024?

Maton took the loss in the brewers only wild card win.

Going to need Maton, and a 4run lead. Back on the horse.

Can’t at all fault Thomson, but you do the Mets a tremendous favor when you take the baseball away from Wheeler in a 1-0 game.

Extremely nice throw by Iglasias. His momentum causes a hook and he played the hooked throw perfectly.

KC jumps out to an early 1-0 lead in the 1st at Yankee Stadium on an RBI SF from Pham.

Haha…I thought 100 pitches was the indisputable agreed upon magic number? Wheeler was at 111. I’d of left him in there…

    Mets D snuffed a rally.

Torres touches up Wacha with an oppo 2 run tater to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead in the 3rd. That’s too bad.

Nice…Melendez returns the favor and touches up Cole for a 2 run tater to give the Royals a 3-2 lead. Now Pham follows up with a solid base hit to LF…Go Royals!

The juggling Verdugo and the Yankees get lucky on that little fly ball to LF.

Stanton looked like he may have been dogging it a little on the base paths.

Tommy Pham second year in a row cashing some post season checks. Maybe we should have kept him. 🙂

No bargains anywhere as Wacha gets Torres, Soto and Judge this inning. I’m glad I’m safe at home…Haha!
