Another Mo reject.
October 5, 2024 at 4:54 pm #269011Wheeler’s demonstrating why it’s nice to have a first rate SP’er lined up to work the opener of a post-season series. Philly up 1-0 and Wheeler at 89 pitches through 6. I’m letting him work in the 7th if I’m on the top step.
October 5, 2024 at 5:21 pm #269012Wheeler turns in 7 innings of shutout work on 111 pitches. That’s only 1 more pitch than it took for Chris Carpenter to work through a CG shutout 13 years ago in the same ballpark. Anyone who watched that baseball game saw one of the best pitching duels in post-season baseball history.
October 5, 2024 at 5:27 pm #269013Wheeler exits after 7 and now Hoffman allows the first two Mets to reach in the 8th. Hardly ever fails.
October 5, 2024 at 5:32 pm #269014Mets now tie it up in the 8th and have baserunners at 2B and 3B with no outs. Should have left Carpent…er uh…Wheeler in there…
October 5, 2024 at 5:34 pm #269015Another Met’s RBI base hit to take a 2-1 lead. Baserunners at the corners and still no outs.
October 5, 2024 at 5:36 pm #269016Alonso SF makes it 3-1.

October 5, 2024 at 5:46 pm #2690185-1 Mets in the 8th now.
Are the Mets the team of destiny in 2024?
October 5, 2024 at 5:50 pm #269019
jj-cf-stlParticipantMaton took the loss in the brewers only wild card win.
October 5, 2024 at 5:51 pm #269020
jj-cf-stlParticipantGoing to need Maton, and a 4run lead. Back on the horse.
October 5, 2024 at 5:57 pm #269021Can’t at all fault Thomson, but you do the Mets a tremendous favor when you take the baseball away from Wheeler in a 1-0 game.
October 5, 2024 at 6:02 pm #269022
jj-cf-stlParticipantExtremely nice throw by Iglasias. His momentum causes a hook and he played the hooked throw perfectly.
October 5, 2024 at 6:04 pm #269023KC jumps out to an early 1-0 lead in the 1st at Yankee Stadium on an RBI SF from Pham.
October 5, 2024 at 6:05 pm #269024Can’t at all fault Thomson,
Why not?
October 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm #269025Haha…I thought 100 pitches was the indisputable agreed upon magic number? Wheeler was at 111. I’d of left him in there…
October 5, 2024 at 6:10 pm #269026Wacha…Wacha…Go Royals!
October 5, 2024 at 6:11 pm #269028
jj-cf-stlParticipantMets D snuffed a rally.
Phillies D…. underwhelming, Mets tack on a run.October 5, 2024 at 6:22 pm #269029Torres touches up Wacha with an oppo 2 run tater to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead in the 3rd. That’s too bad.
October 5, 2024 at 6:25 pm #269030
jj-cf-stlParticipantGame 1 Final
6-2 Mets winOctober 5, 2024 at 6:35 pm #269031Nice…Melendez returns the favor and touches up Cole for a 2 run tater to give the Royals a 3-2 lead. Now Pham follows up with a solid base hit to LF…Go Royals!
October 5, 2024 at 6:45 pm #269032The juggling Verdugo and the Yankees get lucky on that little fly ball to LF.
October 5, 2024 at 6:50 pm #269034Stanton looked like he may have been dogging it a little on the base paths.
October 5, 2024 at 6:55 pm #269035Tommy Pham second year in a row cashing some post season checks. Maybe we should have kept him. 🙂
October 5, 2024 at 7:01 pm #269036No bargains anywhere as Wacha gets Torres, Soto and Judge this inning. I’m glad I’m safe at home…Haha!
