Perez looks like a Sherman tank situated behind HP. I’d hate to be a baserunner trying to move him out of the way under the old rules on a close play at the plate.

KC hangs on to win it 1-0 over the O’s. The road teams have aced it so far.

    Mmm mmm mmm
I had a leftover beef pattie, sliced tomato & red onion, tater tots and a half-glass of “total beets” juice that the wife makes me drink 😉

JD drives in 2 runs, w/2 out.

Yeah, the Mets were 17.5 games off the pace in the NLE during the first couple of weeks of June. Right now, I think they may be the most dangerous dark horse in the NL, with the Tigers taking on the same look in the AL.

Churio took a bad route on a fly ball that kept the inning alive for the Mets to score 5 runs. He was always a CF but is playing LF. The ball probably had a lot of carry and he misjudged it. He makes it and it’s still a 4-3 Brewers lead. Just show how little things make a big difference.

It’ll be a late din-din here as we just put a couple of large baked potatoes in the oven. Those things take every bit of an hour and a half, but I like them that way better than in the nuke box.

Yeah, Forsch, he looked bad on that one after making a nice leaping grab earlier in that same inning.

Unfortunately with no cable I don’t get to see playoff baseball. So thanks for the updates, gents.

It’s cool to see a couple of teams left for dead earlier in the season get off the deck and make the post season tourney. Both the Mets and Tigers were toast – talk was the Mets would send Pete Alonso to the Cubs, and the Tigers jettisoned Jack Flaherty at the deadline.

    You never know.

The Detroit at Houston series is broadcast on ABC, Bikemike. You should be able to get that one.

Nice to see tigers beat houston, i hope tigers take the series. The team im hoping the most for is the orioles but it looks like it might be another ugly playoff exit for them unless they can get back to hitting well.

I don’t know if anyone saw today’s Detroit at Houston game, but I have to think that Heyward’s bases loaded vicious line drive right at the Tiger’s 2B’man to end the game must have looked a little like McCovey’s scorcher right at Richardson to end the ’62 WS. At any rate, Heyward hit it right on the screws for the final out.

Thanks 1TD – I will be able to see that series on ABC.

Since the din-din topic came up, I gave the wifey the night off and put together a Mexican lasagna. I layered corn tortillas, a mixture of sautéed Pablano peppers, onions, garlic and spices, black beans, red enchilada sauce, and cheese. The onion, garlic and peppers are from our garden.

Garnished with fresh avocado and sour cream. It was pretty darn good!

Mets win it 8-4 to keep the road teams on a roll. They haven’t missed yet today. The Braves could make it 4 for 4 with a W at SD.

Bicyclemike, you got my mouth watering. Ive ate the premade mexican lasagnas and they are good but yours sounds really superb. Im not big on mexican food but that sure sounds superb. I havent made a lasagna since home ec in high school. I may have to get industrious.

Moonshot from Jr. makes it 2-0.

Tatis just put the padres up 2-0 right off the bat. Normally i wouldnt root for the padres but schildt winning it all would be another knife in the cardinals managements back.

Yeah, Willie, if Schildlt’s Padres make a deep run during this post-season, it’ll almost have to rankle the senses of the Cardinal heirarchy. The entire organization looked pretty bad when they fired him, now they not only look bad, they look really stupid.

Call me crazy, but a pair of baseball cleats should never be offered for sale in the color of yellow.

and a half-glass of “total beets” juice that the wife makes me drink

Thank goodness, I thought I was the only one. My wife gets some kind of beet juice at Whole Foods that isn’t cut with anything. Obscenely expensive. Its horrible but I have to down a half glass every day for some reason. The price of bliss.

Well, the Padres win it 4-0 over the Braves to become the only home team to win today. At any rate, it was a full day of post-season baseball action and I’m looking forward to enjoying another four games tomorrow.
