I’ll be really surprised if the WS is anything other than a Dodgers/Yankees contest

NY/LA would be the preferred outcome from the standpoint of how much TV revenue the WS can generate. For comparison, Milwaukee/Kansas City would have been a TV revenue disaster.

The weather looks dry for the titanic struggle in Queens tonight. Game should be played as scheduled. Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch. Then afterwards an episode of “The Outer Limts” for our viewing pleasure along with a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar.

Having said that, Poughkeepsie and Hazleton look like they might get some wet stuff tonight.

Regarding WS that have involved two teams that could be looked upon as not the ideal TV revenue matchup, it occurred to me that it seems like the WS goes the full 7 games anytime two teams that could be termed smaller market organizations are matched up in a WS. Obviously I thought of STL/MIL, STL/KC, STL/MINN and STL/TX, but also of BAL/PITT, ATL/MINN, FL/CLE, KC/SF and HOU/DC. It’s almost to a degree that if you want to see a WS go the limit, make sure both paricipants hail from a cow town…Haha!

Bad decision to try to get lead runner, dodgers have a chance to capitalize

Mets and dodgers blow bases loaded opportunities.

Buehler making pitches when it matters. I doubt they send him out to face the top of lineup again though so prob a short outing.

Buehler ditched the sweeping slider early because he couldn’t throw it for strikes. That drop slider that Gallegos throws saved his outing. He had good command of it.

Dodgers in control but really this should be a laugher, lots of walks with missed opportunities. The top of 7th a good point to that and a interesting baseball situation. The dodgers had runners at 2nd and third with two outs. It got to a full count. In reality, theres no real difference in that and runners at 1st and 2nd with 2 outs and a full count but it tends to be treated differently. Now whose on deck can change things but generally ive seen with no runner at first pitchers will tend not to throw a strike on a full count, hoping batter gets himself out where as if no runner on third pitchers seem less likely to do that, preferring to go right after batter than chance a walk. Now if i was a hitter and like i say other factors like whose on deck could change it but if rumners at second n third like dodgers had and full count two outs, if the ball is moving or twisting in any way, im not swinging. If it turns out a strike, so it is. I just generally think they generally arent throwing a strike there. Of course ohtani just hit a three run hr so have broken it open .

Ohtani with the 3 run tater demonstrating once again that the Dodgers and Yankees simply have all the horses this post-season. And despite Ohtani’s 3 RBI night, Little Eddie continues to lead all Dodger players with 4 RBI’s and 5 hits in this ’24 NLCS.

Weather looks good in both cities today. Mansfield, OH and Bridgeport, CT could see a brief shower but the games should be played with no issues. Might be cool in both places, in the 50s.

Din-din today will be a couple of baked potatoes and some Italian Green Beans out of the can. Then dessert will be some Cook N’Serve Chocolate Pudding. All of this along with an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew. Then it will be about time for me and Whitey Herdog to head to the couch for first pitch from Municipal Stadium in Cleveland.

This might be a four cigar night for me. Late tonight, after the Doyers and Mets game, will be another episode of The Outer Limits.

Rats, I assume you are watching the 1963 era “Outer Limits”, and not the latter day version. At one time I had three DVDs of that original series, but sold them as I had seen most of them, plus you can find them on free streaming services these days. Some great stories in those. In the old anthology series as well as regular shows I always look forward to seeing the guest stars. Some great character actors back in the day.

Personally I have been getting in to the old “Mannix” shows lately. I watch an episode in the early morning during my weekday workout.

Hope the Guardians can make a series of this at home. Seeing a game at Progressive Field last summer, I am partial to them this post season.

    BikeMike,
Yes, this is the old original 1963 Outer Limits series. Some of the shows aren’t too bad. Others are not that great. And Mannix is, of course, my all time #1 favorite hour long drama. Seen each episode many times. Still watch an episode late on Saturday nights.

And I agree. I want the Yankers to win but I don’t want them to go four and out.
