Don’t forget that Budaska is now hitting coach along with Greer in St. Louis. Until they decide to move on from Fowler it wouldn’t pay to bring him up.

That callup and then being unused was a dumb move. He did not have to be added until this fall and what they did is burn an option Year.

I was told by a reliable source that Donivan Williams and Leandro Cedeno are going to Johnson City while Terry Fuller will be back with GCL Cardinals.

No room on 40 man for Mujica unless trade made or Voit dropped

How about Yepez? He was signed I believe July 2 of 2014 but first played in 2015.

Montero, Yepez, and Mendoza and a few others very good starts in lower minors.

It’s interesting that they again are using “taxi squad” approach keeping a few players at EST rather than releasing them. These are players who have played on one of the full season clubs previously.(Drake, Hudzina, Fiedler, etc)

Wonder who replaces Arozarena at Springfield? Also, no sign of Drake, Dykstra, Jenner, Fiedler, J R Davis, Hudzina, or Moreno. EST for a while or released? All seem unlikely for EST considering their ages and experience.

New outfielder Johan Mieses was said to be going there so that’s puzzling.

Saw Gonzales a couple times in ST and I think he will thrive as a reliever.

No sign of Jenner on PB roster or any other for that matter. Andy Young was playing second along with J R Davis and Mendoza third. Assume Dyksra was sent there and not released which would probably eliminate Davis. Was told Jose Martinez would be there as a utility infielder. Good thing about Andy Young is he can play second, third, and short. Robertson was their shortstop. Mieses, Woodman, Pinder, and Billings would seem likely outfielders and they had 3 catchers Godoy, O’Keefe, and McCarvel.

Not surprised as I was there till Wednesday. Missing from working roster then and assuming staying behind in EST are Lopes, Kirtley, and Moreno.

I like both deals as the Cardinals acquired a couple of 22 year old prospects not on 40 man for two guys who were older and seemingly blocked. At least there’s time to develop the 2 we got.

So difficult to determine because many had jackets on and they seem to move around so much. Also they tend to pitch them up a level to challenge them.

Mendoza, Robertson, Young, and Trosclair make up infield at Palm Beach. Outfield included Woodman, Pinder, and Billings with Godoy, O’Keefe, and McCarvel there as catchers.

I was hoping for Ynfante at Peoria too but looks like he’s headed to State College when they start. As I left Jupiter Wednesday the Peoria outfielders were Plummer, Machado, Denton, Carlson and Moreno with Hurst on the DL. Catchers were Dennis Ortega and Julio Rodriguez. Infielders were Ypez, Kirtley, Montero, Ascanio, Y Gonzales plus they still had Irving Lopez, Caleb Lopes, and Bryant on roster. I asked Delvin Perez if he would play there and he said no. Headed for EST.

FWIW Brandon Benson will be out for several weeks with injury to arm (rather serious).

Hurst will begin the season on the DL due to an arm injury (not serious). He is a real small guy. Looks like a little leaguer.

The Carson Kelly situation shows how they fail to plan ahead. He certainly is good enough athlete to handle other positions and especially first base. Other times forward planning was poor was Matt Adams playing some outfield AFTER spring training was over and little play at short until AFL for DeJong.
