IMO, too early to give up on Sosa. He is young for the Texas League and finally starting to show some traction offensively.
Word is Ozuna was scratched due to a jammed finger he suffered while sliding back into second base last night.
Shew received the promotion to Springfield. Palm Beach Cardinals tweeted that out yesterday.
Last update on Tewes was from EST and he progressed to throwing bullpens. Springfield remains two roster spots down, so Tewes could still be activated and that would move Ellis/Evans back to ‘pen where the team has struggled.
I would take Helsley over Poncedeleon, Gomber, and Hudson. I think he has a better chance to stay in the rotation than Hudson. Helsley has the profile of a No. 3 starter and probably should be pitching in Triple-A right now. Although Gomber has the clear advantage being the only left-handed starter out of the group.

If you couple that with Thomas and Knizner – it makes for one of the best middle of the orders in the TL. Edman and Urias are a formidable one-two at the top as well. Of course, it’s hard to envision all of them staying together at Double-A all year long.

I have a story on Roache, who was named Texas League Player of te Week today, coming in the near future. Watch out for it!
I don’t think this affects how the organization views Knizner at all by not promoting him to Triple-A. His defense is clearly behind his offense still but his approach to hitting is at a different level this year. Defensively, he has good hands, frames well, and calls a good game. His timeline is probably more conducive to replacing Molina. However, this is a good opportunity to see exactly what the Cardinals have in Kelly.
