The hit by pitch was a bad omen. Can’t do that there.

That high fastball over the zone is JMarts kryptonite.

Let’s not be to hard on Edman… it was a bad hop. It could have happened to anyone unfortunately it was us. We still have 6 outs left. Our pen needs to keep it at 3-1

Bad hop??? He stayed back and should have made the play. He didn’t charge it, which is fine, but he has to make that routine play. Hence the error ruling. Wong made it worse…

Drives me crazy seeing all our guys being left on base stranded!

We’ve left 7 stranded. And yes jbcard, perhaps Edman should have made the play but he’s been so big for us down the stretch and a big part why were here so I’ll forgive him for this one.

I see Miller has brought another tank of gasoline with him to the fire fight, but he ends up burning the Braves with a line out double play.

Somebody explain to me why Shildt to Miko out.

Mikolas might’ve been gassed since it’s so hot and the first couple inning were high stress. I thought he wouldn’t last as long as he did, but hats off to him, he really turned it around.

But yes, it seems like managers feel the need to make a lot of moves to be smart in October.

Goldy just hit a big boy home run.

Cards down to 5 more outs after the Goldy HR. Ozuna struck out hacking at pitches out of the zone.

They just said Edman’s miscue was changed to a single. DeJong still charged with an error on the same play allowing the second run to score on the play. That second run is now the difference in the game.

Cards fighting in the 8th. DeJong and Wong single. They are on 1B and 2B with Bader up. Carp pinch hitting. Melancon in for a possible 4-out save.

Carp ties it on a double to score DeJong but Wong is out easily at the plate. Score 3-3 going to the bottom of the 8th.

3rd base coach was damn near in the of! Did he give any type of direction on that ball to Wong as to hold or go?

I like going for it. If that throws off line we score twice. Got to be agressive.

Helsley is starting the eighth inning in a huge situation – to protect a tie score. No whining about him being jerked around or having to warm up multiple times. As noted above, this is “big boy” baseball.

We almost had to try to make it happen with Wong. We have not forced them into errors, and they have three runs due to errors that they forced on us. The best we were able to do was to get Bader’s speed to work for us.

Worst AB thus far, Goldy on second, Ozuna on first, Molina tries to pull an outside pitch, right on the outside corner. That is usually a ground out. This time, it was a DP inning killer. Molina usually hits that to the opposite field, which would have worked.
