The Cards go quietly in the top of the 1st. Mikolas walks Acuña to lead off the Braves 1st.

I keep forgetting how much I dislike the TBS announcing crew.

Also, the Braves fans boo every single close pitch that doesn’t go their way and even the throws over to first to hold Acuña. That’s annoying.

Of course, Mikolas can’t hit the zone today so he walks Albies.

Double play ball botched

Feeling a long one today

Unfortunately, the primary tone is being set by Mikolas and he just doesn’t appear to have the goods for this stage. He’s not going to last long, especially with the heat. Then Wong makes just a goofy play to compound the problem. You couldn’t ask for a worse start.

Mikolas staggers through the 2nd without giving up a run. He’s not looking good, but the damage hasn’t been bad.

Keuchel is looking like he has it all together so far today. He’s mixing it up and getting enough movement that he’s able to get a lot of weak contact. The one well hit ball the Cards have was Wong’s liner directly to Acuña. Gotta start making better contact.

As I write that, Mikolas smokes a ground rule double!!

Cards have killed a couple potential rallies by hitting into double plays. Edman in the 3rd and now Yadi in the 4th. Still have Ozuna on 2B with two outs. Not cashing in with RISP rearing its ugly head. Braves just walked DeJong to bring Wong up. Need to cash in.

Kuechel walks the tightrope again and lucks out of the inning with no damage.

Mikolas trying to help the offense. His double didn’t lead to a score. Now he bunts Bader to 2B after Bader got an infield hit. Bader just stole 3B. Fowler has got to get this run home.
