    Day to day.

My guess is they would like to give him the weekend off but that might depend on how tonight goes.

Is Rizzo, Bryant, Heyward, Baez, or Schwarber even available for pinch hitting duties because if so that worries me just as much as them being in the starting lineup

Schwarber is in the starting lineup.

I would imagine Rizzo could hit and maybe Baez.

Well we didn’t exactly light it up against Mills 65 mph curve ball last series. Not sure how back to back years Milwaukee finishes the season with all the last place teams in the NL who threw in the towel at the deadline. Cincy didn’t play Suarez and they were down to their 4th place catcher and the CF was out too. Cards are the only team above .500 that the Brewers have played since September 7.

I think there’s been a sweep in every one of our series with the cubs this year hasn’t there? I doubt that has ever occured in our storied rivalry with the north siders. That’s a tough question and one probably best left for Skippy and all of the fine folks over at the esteemed Elias Sports Bureau. If this series holds true to form, whichever teams wins tonight will go on to win the next two. Speaking of series sweeps, the Astros nearly had a clean sweep vs Seattle this year, going 18-1. Wouldn’t we like our boys to hornswaggle the cubbies like that one of these years.

Pugsley…There was one series this year that didn’t involve a sweep, I believe it was in St. Louis.

We took 2/3. I could be wrong though.

My spies report that the dangerous Castellanos is scratched now. He’s as dangerous as Schwarb! Is Maddon nuts or what?

well its about prime time. can Hudson get back to form and can the cardinals put together hits. if Hudson can stay out of trouble early, I like our chances. to me what players the cubs put out there shouldn’t matter, its about what we do. hopefully wew will be looking to hit fastball early, laying off other stuff til at least one strike, and going to opposite field with two strikes.

Brewers score in the top of the 1st against the Rockies. What else is new? It’s pretty clear the Cards better sweep, lol.

Bader should be a late inning defensive sub. These games are kind of important, and it’s tough having his auto-out in the lineup, along with a couple of the others. There’s not a feasible alternative for DeJong, but there is for Bader.

Ball 4, ball 8, ball 12. Wheels come off for Hudson in the 3rd inning as he has walked the bases loaded after getting the first two batters out. He needs to pull it together now at this critical juncture or it could be a bad night.

How much Blues talk is too much? I think we just learned.

Hudson comes back to K Contreras on three pitches. Game is still scoreless headed to the bottom of the third.

Edman with his 2nd hit of the game, a lead off double in the third. It’d be nice if some of the guys who get paid the big bucks to hit, would do the same. Of the other 7 position players, 4 of them struck out the first time through the order.

It scares me the longer this games goes with it being close. It just gives schildt a chance to over manage which he loves doing

Team can’t get a hit with runners on, Ozuna is just shit. Pass on him next year unless it’s financially reasonable. Not likely so later…

I can pretty much tune them out when they go into that mode, but yep, the Blues talk was annoying. Almost as annoying as the Cards’ K rate and inability to score tonight.

Hudson wiggles out of a slight pickle by striking out 3 consecutive cubbies. Scoreless affair heading to the bottom of the 4th.

Hudson due up 5th. If his spot comes up here, then he’s probably done for the night. Unless we get a 2 run blast before that

Thanks Dave…..could no recall if we had a series vs these guys that did not involve a sweep. Welcome JB…..Almora just took a homer off Yadi’s resume….and hammed it up in the process. Remembering how upset Almora was in Houston earlier this year after injuring that little girl with a foul ball, it’s kind of tough to get mad at the guy though ….oh lookie there!…Carp gets his teeth into one and Almora sitting atop Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s shoulder is not going to bring this ball back…..home run…..Birds seize the lead!
