Danny Mac got salty on twitter. He was using all caps in wanting people to he he doesnt schedule the interviews and was just doing his job.

I am no fan of Danny Mac but somebody at FS Midwest needs to be bopped about the head for putting on that stupid interview. The Blues don’t give the Cardinals as much time as FSMW gives to them. But, while Danny may say it’s his job, it is not his job to go on blabbing about the Blues for inning after inning game after game. You like em – fine. But us outstaters could care less and we are the majority of your viewers.

Now, if anybody has any friends at Fox Sports Midwest, can you find out why the white outlined strike box disappears at the oddest times and stays away. We were to that the CF camera angle was changed to accomodate the pitchers head not interferring with the strike box but notice that several other teams keep that angle and the guys head does not interfere at all because the pitcher moves after the pitch is thrown.
I have become a fan of the strike box despite it being inaccurate most of the time on high pitches. It frquently shows the batters belt as the top of the box and that is when he is in his batting position. Inquiring minds would like to know why the box disappears during games.

I have seen no evidence that there is any correlation between times warming up and pitching injuries. There is no data on how many times pitchers warm up vs. game appearances. Also, as Brad Thompson noted last night, there are two kinds of warming up. One is just getting loose and the other is at maximum effort to get ready to enter the game. What were the three last night? We don’t know.

On a general basis, I have also seen no evidence that Helsley (or anyone else on the Cardinals) regularly is asked to warm up excessively.

Helsley was well-rested, not having pitched in three days. He is trained as a starter. What do starters do? They pitch an inning, sit down for a while, then pitch another inning. Then they sit down and repeat it again.

In big games, players have to be ready. Last night was one of them.

In an ideal world, every move needed ahead would be perfectly predicted and choreographed. In the real world, fans just complain when things don’t go right.

Had they not used Helsley, some were ready to attack. No way to win – other than had he pitched well. That didn’t happen, so the blame gets deflected.

Here is some real data to consider. Helsley is the worst reliever on the staff with inherited runners. So far this season, eight of the 13 he has inherited scored, including both last night.

So, if you want to be critical of anything, be critical of the fact he did not start an inning.
