Brewers probably ought to be pulling for the Cards.
Their consensus is that a split is best
September 20, 2019 at 4:46 pm #107358Another walk to Fowler to lead off the 9th. The 8th walk in the game and just two runs. So walks don’t always come back to haunt to pitcher.

stlcard25ParticipantHolland throws it away and we have Fowler at 2nd with none out. C’mon, Tommy!!

I know the Brewers would like to win the division, but to just make the playoffs it’d be best for the Brewers if the Cards sweep the cubs.

Participantwell cubs have been giving us lots of chances. i wouldn’t bunt with edman with a guy at second, hes in scoring position with our hottest hitter he struck out but i still wouldn’t have wasted a pitch on it. nobody on this team gets guys in from third with less than 2 outs.
September 20, 2019 at 4:48 pm #107362
stlcard25ParticipantEdman tries to bunt but fails and then Ks. Cards are just not doing the fundamental things with the bats lately.

Participanti just wonder who is gonna come in to the game for the 9th. can Gallegos do it 2 days in a row. can we trust Martinez. would be nice to get this run in, but goldy has not been doing it or ozuna either.
September 20, 2019 at 4:52 pm #107364Can we get an insurance man up to the plate????
September 20, 2019 at 4:52 pm #107365When is Goldy going to hit another HR? Now would be a good time.
September 20, 2019 at 4:54 pm #107366
stlcard25ParticipantPedro “50 Cent” Strip is in to face Goldy. We need you, Goldy! He’s getting some hittable pitches but just fouling them off. Doesn’t look good. Now a full count. Goldy fouls off ball 4. The next pitch is juuuust low for a walk. #9 on the day.
September 20, 2019 at 4:54 pm #107367Goldy now collects the 9th walk for the Cards today. Two on for Ozuna. Now would be a good time for his next HR.

Participantthe strike zone hasn’t been consistent today for either team. i can see why the players are chippy
September 20, 2019 at 4:56 pm #107369OMG…Carp
September 20, 2019 at 4:56 pm #107370
stlcard25ParticipantStrop now against Ozuna, who has been cold as ice. Strop starts him off with a ball in the dirt. Now a swinging 94 mph fastball low in the zone. Strop misses one right in the middle of the plate and Ozuna fouls it off. Is he particularly deceptive or something? Another foul. Ball low…2-2. Now a big K on the bottomed out slider. Ugh
September 20, 2019 at 4:56 pm #107371Ozuna got a fastball right down the middle but just couldn’t hit it. One of those where they say major leaguers don’t miss mistakes. The he strikes out on one out of the zone. Up to Carp now.
September 20, 2019 at 4:57 pm #107372Ozuna is looking a lot like DeJong at the plate.
September 20, 2019 at 4:58 pm #107373They got nothing at the plate! 😡
September 20, 2019 at 4:59 pm #107374
stlcard25ParticipantNow Marp…we need a hero, Marp!! Can he be it? He takes ball 1 low and inside. Strop places a fastball low in the zone for 1-1. A foul makes it 1-2. Will the Cubs really luck out again?? Carp Ks. Ugh, what horrendous situational hitting. What’s wrong with a legit bunt on occasion?
September 20, 2019 at 4:59 pm #107375If we lose this game it is all on the offense. Multiple chances to add to the lead.
September 20, 2019 at 5:00 pm #1073761982 willie
Participantwell our middle struggled again there. but if our pitchers do their job, we can still win. i say stay with miller starting off. i mean hes been in these moments. its a hard call, no easy answers
September 20, 2019 at 5:00 pm #107377Well this is when the Cubs usually shine. Are we going to wilt or slam the door shut?
September 20, 2019 at 5:00 pm #107378Who comes in?
September 20, 2019 at 5:00 pm #107379And they did it again. Carp Ks to end the inning. About as futile an offensive performance today as you see. It’s not like Jack last night, the cubs have tried to give them tons of base runners, but the bats are just in a funk. This team will go as far as defense and pitching take them.
September 20, 2019 at 5:00 pm #107380Here comes the excruciatingly tense 9th.
September 20, 2019 at 5:01 pm #107381I am guessing Miller gets Heyward then Shildt makes a change.
