stlcard25ParticipantThe ump gifts Bader a ball on the first pitch. Now it’s 2-0. 2-1 on a foul. 2-2 on another foul. Another foul. Wick looks a little nervous. Will he make a mistake? Nope. Harrison is blown away on a ball high. Ugh
September 20, 2019 at 4:30 pm #107332JMart due
September 20, 2019 at 4:31 pm #107333Just so pathetic in these situations. Bader turns a 2-0 count into a K. Now JMart is pinch hitting and he hasn’t done anything in forever it seems. Why not try one of the young guys?
September 20, 2019 at 4:33 pm #107334Bader and JMart leaving the bases loaded was just too damn predictable. Easy money.

stlcard25ParticipantCafecito has been a man missing in action lately. Let’s welcome him with a couple ribbie’s, eh? Ball one is wide of the plate away. He gets a faaaat fastball and he whiffs. Hopefully that swing was for timing. Now a foul ball and it’s 1-2. The breaker misses wide and it’s 2-2. Now a harmless grounder and the Cubs escape.
September 20, 2019 at 4:34 pm #107336We are going to regret not scoring again.
September 20, 2019 at 4:35 pm #107337Anything look familiar here guys?

Despite what people may have levied against Matheny, Shildt is so much more tied to his veterans. Rookies are strictly for pinch running. /Eye roll
September 20, 2019 at 4:36 pm #107339Brutal offensive performance today.
1. Would anyone else had pinch hit for Bader? He seems to be dropping off again offensively.
2. Is Martinez fully recovered? He seemed to cringe after that first big swing.September 20, 2019 at 4:36 pm #107340Bader swung on ball 4, walks in a run

stlcard25ParticipantMiller strikes him out!!
September 20, 2019 at 4:40 pm #1073463 outs to go.
September 20, 2019 at 4:40 pm #107347Miller was awesome and efficient in the 8th. Does Shildt roll the calendar back a few years and let him close it?
September 20, 2019 at 4:41 pm #107348
stlcard25ParticipantThe words of terror emitted by Danny Mac…”Martinez is getting loose in the Cardinal bullpen.” Why oh why do you do this to us, Shildt?!?!
September 20, 2019 at 4:42 pm #107349Spying on the Brewers forum: “Here come the Cardinals. Feels inevitable, like the changing of the seasons, or death”
This one cracked me up

September 20, 2019 at 4:44 pm #107351Brewers probably ought to be pulling for the Cards.

Participantwell 1964cards bader was one of the guys that actually produced yesterday in the same situation. im not making an excuse for him there, he has to make contact with one out but he didn’t there. but hes not the only one to do that today.
