Need to drop DeJong to 10th in the batting order.

Now Bader with a chance to add on.

DeJong is totally lost at the plate.

Nice to see someone come through, finally. Would be nice if Dejong and Bader weren’t automatic outs though. Also, Wieters isn’t much hitting RH so I’d rather see one of the young guys. Give me Arozarena, who surely is a better RH hitter than Wieters.

Our offense is probably done for the day so our bullpen is going to have to get the final 12 outs unscathed.

I feel like that was a foot off the gas pedal. Shildt simply refuses to use the young guys over the vet.

Webb in already. Not ideal, but that’s what happens when you have starters who can’t give you innings. Webb gets Schwarber and now Shildt is bringing in Brebbia.

YesI have tried those steps Carter. No luck yet. I will keep trying.

Dejong has a .206 average and .280 OBP since the Break. In September, he has a .179/.233/.358 line. To me, his swoon screams fatigue. I like the guy but he needs to be better than a light hitting SS.

Is it me or do the Cub hitters whine after every called strike?

Excellent work by Webb and Brebbia. Brebbia got his two batters on 5 pitches.

Nice work by the pen there in the 6th. We have faced poor bullpens in the last five games and mostly let them off the hook. I’d say that we are due here.

With Wong out it is hard to replace DeJong also. I don’t think Shildt would have the guts to play Munoz or Sosa during the stretch run but I wouldn’t mind if he did. DeJong just can’t buy a hit unless we are way ahead in the game.

I like Brebbia but I’d be saving him for later. Are we considering CMart in the 9th again? Cabrera looked good the other night but he had some cushion.

I have noticed that too. It is a combination of entitlement and desperation.

It’s in the game plan. Maddon is a whiner and gamesman. Teams mirror their leaders. The other night Maddon had the umps checking Reds’ pitchers’ gloves and they found nothing wrong. The worst is when Lester is on the mound and they argue from the other side.

I agree gscottar, probably want DeJongs glove out there. Munos can play infield pretty good too, doubt they will use him at ss though
