Somebody might give Carp a deal similar to CMart. I assume he can opt out if he doesn’t make the active roster. No real cost to the team.
Carpenter is done……..and Carlos is on the brink of it. Merely speculation, but wealth may have been Carlos’ undoing as far as performing at a high level over the course of his career. It happens. He certainly had the physical tools to be a perennial all star……but obviously not the mental.

I think CMart is a good candidate to give a shot at a comeback. He still has a live arm.
Carpenter is hopeless though. Something in his swing has made him an easy out. It looks to be with his hands. He seems to put his hands out too far and is always hooking the ball, rather than keeping the hands back, staying inside it and driving the ball.

I am skeptical he turned down a big league contract unless the Rangers made a Matt Wieters kind of commitment that he would be added to the roster at the end of camp. No matter what, I will pull for him.

Yea I wouldn’t think he would have turned down a guaranteed deal but you never know. While I’ve been hard on him the last three years, he was great for us for a good while. So I too wish him well.
