Paul DeJong back in Missouri. Dealt to KC. Don’t know who the Sox are getting in return.

Dodgers really have the checkbook out. Here is an earlier one that fell through.

It’s been a long and winding road, but Jack finally made it to the promised land.

It always felt destined to be even while Flaherty was here that he would end up a Dodger at some point.

I cannot say that I wish him well as a Dodger.

It seemed to me that once Jack started running into some career setbacks he became a rather less annoying person. But I imagine he was an instigator of catchergate.

Saw Jack pitch last week in Cleveland and he looked real good. Wonder what the injury concerns are that the Yankees had. Guess we will see how he does in SoCal. He and Edman both in Dodger blue now.

Lefties never die. They just sign minor league deals.

Gallegos has signed a minor league deal with the Twins. He very well could be pitching in October if he gets added to the 40 man by the start of next month.

I noticed that Shreve had appeared in 50 MLB games last season and posted a 1.343 WHIP. I checked what our pitchers did last year, and Shreve’s WHIP was better than Thompson, Liberatore, Hudson, Hicks, Flaherty, Pallante, Cabrera, Woodford, Wainwright, Rom, Naile and Leahy.

Not that WHIP is all that important standing alone, anyway, but his WHIP as a Cardinal was 1.56.

Wow, quite a scary thing Matheny went through. Glad he is okay.

A weird deal as O’Neill has a leg infection. They don’t know how he got it. Kind of typical with O’Neill as he seems to have things hit him that are unusual – sort of the bad luck type of maladies.

He is having a great year though, with a .900 OPS. A big loss on that deal for the Cardinals to this point.

As you said, nobody seems to know what caused the infection. I wonder if he got some new tats…

As I mentioned earlier, threads of more than 100 pages are not allowed. So I have started a new thread for Former Cardinals in the News. Please use it instead of this one. Thank you.
