January 31, 2020 at 4:57 pm #121157My mistake. Thanks. He’d be better off in the Bronx, though. Now he has NL Rookie of the Year Peter Alonso to deal with…
January 31, 2020 at 10:05 pm #121168Former #stlcards OF prospect has been hampered by injuries. https://t.co/G0HjIv5k8y

January 31, 2020 at 10:14 pm #121170His history makes me want to think of him as a position player version of Rob Kaminsky.
February 1, 2020 at 7:17 am #121175Another example of when the Cards trade away prospects, they are rarely burned by it later on.
February 3, 2020 at 4:34 pm #121341But here is one unless O’Neill steps up…
Terms of Marco Gonzales’ extension with #Mariners, per source: Four years, $30M, starting in 2021, plus a club option for a fifth season. Buys out one year of free agency with possibility of buying out a second. Gonzales already under contract for 2020 at $1M.

February 15, 2020 at 1:56 pm #122530February 19, 2020 at 3:15 pm #122931Tony Cingrani, a dynamic lefty out of pen, is on the mend, is drawing a ton of interest and should be a nice late spring sign for someone

February 19, 2020 at 7:51 pm #123012With names being thrown around like Garlic(k), Martini, and Cingrani, I am getting craving for a nice spaghetti dinner. 🙂
February 19, 2020 at 9:54 pm #123026Guessing that “ton of interest” that Cingrani is receiving according to his agent (through Heyman) is minor league contract offers. Otherwise, I bet he would have signed already.
Teams are going to be very reluctant to give him an MLB contract and pay him an MLB salary not knowing if he can pitch effectively. He has too much service time to be sent down to the minors without permission so the worst case for an MLB team would be if he becomes a Luke Gregerson type (fewer years obviously).
If he is healthy and effective, maybe someone gets a bargain.
February 20, 2020 at 6:07 am #123029Has Gŕegerson formally retired? Signed somewhere? Minor league deal?
February 20, 2020 at 8:03 am #123032As far as I know, Gregerson has been out of work since last May.
February 21, 2020 at 11:44 am #123185Folks may not recall that Daniel Bard was in the #stlcards system from June 2016 to May 2017. In 11 2/3 innings between Palm Beach and Springfield., he issued 32 walks (not a typo). After his release, Bard went to the Mets and retired after the season.
