    Paid - Annual

I agree as far as I prefer Mikolas to Lynn. Whether that proves to be the better decision in five years is uncertain, but so far I like that choice, and would have done the same thing.

But I always liked Lynn. It may not have been a good signing, but he always takes the ball and that helps the rest of the staff.

Mike Leake has a perfect game through 8 innings tonight. Dipoto may have him traded by tomorrow.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Reynolds play for one more team, making it an even 10 teams he drew paychecks from. With 298 homers, he has to be extremely motivated to whack just a couple more. But at 36 years of age, what a nice way for a young fellow to ride off into the sunset….. having made about 30MM and more importantly, enough great memories to keep 10 people amused in their old age.

Just noticed the D-backs are collecting former Cards for the rotation, with them adding Zac Gallen and Mike Leake in trade this week, joining injured Luke Weaver. (Shelby Miller is gone, though.)

I believe it was the Nationals that DFA’d Blazek. Blazek has held on quite awhile for a 35th round draft choice.

The starting 2B for the Yankees today against Chris Sale and the Red Sox was Breyvic Valera.

Getting DFA’d by the 2019 Tigers is about as low as you can go in terms of MLB.

Carson Kelly, OPS 907, BA .268 hit the game tying 2 run homer for the Dbacks and then followed up with the game winning homer in the 11th inning to win 3-2 over the Dodgers. That’s one less walkoff for the Dodgers this season.

And Andy Young has an OPS of .940 (albeit at Reno in the PCL).

At the time of this trade we thought we were getting a future HOF player in Goldschmidt, and the fans in the Lou were euphoric about it, mudville included.

In a completely unrelated matter, the real problem with the game is not our front office. It’s the MLB front office. They could have done what it takes to remove steroids entirely from the game. Instead, they chose to leave open a means and method for steroids to still be used by players who want nothing more than to get a megacontract.
