According to @ESPNStatsInfo, Trevor Rosenthal is just the second pitcher in the Live Ball Era who failed to record an out in each of his first three outings of a season (Rich Hill, 2014).

April 3, 2019 at 4:30 pm #85673Grichuk deal seems rather high to me. As someone else said, “It has to be a record for someone with a .297 on base percentage.”

April 3, 2019 at 5:40 pm #85686Pugs, still not disclosing your salary as TCN’s Play by Play man? Well more than mediocre, you deserve a Grichuk-ian haul for your skills!
April 5, 2019 at 9:10 pm #86071Zac Gallen with 7 no-hit innings tonight for the Marlin’s AAA affiliate.
April 5, 2019 at 9:40 pm #86074Wow….sorry, I just about missed this, stlcard25. Section 4 article 8 line 25 of my current contract with TCN clearly states “Both parties shall not disclose, under any circumstances, the paltry sum of monies that Brian is paying Pugs for his unbelievably fantastic PBP work.”
To be fair though, the pay isn’t anything to jump up and down about, but the fringe benefits certainly are, stlcard25.
April 6, 2019 at 12:02 am #86081Lefty reliever Brett Cecil had surgery Monday to alleviate the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, and while he argued there’s no connection between the injury and his fondness for video game play he’s not taking any chances. Cecil said he’s stashed his game system and won’t play again until after he retires from baseball
Cecil
This makes me sick. Putting this here in this thread out of hope that he’ll soon be a former Cardinal.April 6, 2019 at 6:44 am #86085While Zac Gallen is doing well, Magneuris Sierra was demoted to Double-A.
April 6, 2019 at 7:13 am #86086Daniel Descalso playing 2b hit a bomb and got a bunch of rbi’s in the Cubbies 13-10 loss last night.
April 6, 2019 at 7:39 am #86094SoCal, you will be disappointed. Just coming off surgery, nothing will be happening for Cecil soon – other than rehab.
April 7, 2019 at 6:41 pm #86356Trevor Rosenthal still has an infinite ERA after walking his only batter today. Not sure how much longer Washington will keep him.
April 7, 2019 at 7:28 pm #86358Tyson Ross pitched 1 ER 8 K and most importantly 7 innings in a sweep of the Royals today.
Felt we should’ve kept him. Yeah yeah we have Cecil and Gregorsen eating up our payroll.
April 7, 2019 at 7:32 pm #86359Maybe Rosenthal will get cut and the Cards will pick him up so he can be very good the rest of the season, in a reverse of the Holland ordeal last year.
April 7, 2019 at 10:12 pm #86363If Rodenthal hadn’t been so greedy, he would have given the Cardinals a team friendly contract in exchange for them letting their coaches and trainers bringing him along carefully with the kind of program that he needed. He basically shunned the Cardinals in pursuit of that big contract.
April 9, 2019 at 2:50 pm #86617Hearing from sources Bud Norris agreement is in place with the Nationals. Pending a physical that will take place shortly in Florida.

April 11, 2019 at 9:19 am #86913Trevor Rosenthal has recorded an out. He struck out Andrew Knapp. He now owns an ERA. It's 189.19.
— Mark Zuckerman (@MarkZuckerman) April 11, 2019
Rosenthal does it. Recorded 3 outs. Gave up 1 run. His ERA is 72.00. Nats win 15-1.

April 11, 2019 at 2:05 pm #86945Bud Norris is not going to become Rosenthal’s teammate, after all.
#Nationals’ deal with free-agent reliever Bud Norris fell through. They are going in a different direction. Norris, 34, plans to continue playing and will explore his options.

April 11, 2019 at 2:06 pm #86946David Freese starting at first base for Dodgers today and barring a trip to the playoffs could well be playing his final game at Busch Stadium. He is expected to retire after this season. #STLCards

April 11, 2019 at 9:27 pm #87016Believe it or not, Edwin Jackson is still pitching. He signed a minors deal with Oakland.
April 12, 2019 at 12:51 am #87039He’ll be up eventually.
April 12, 2019 at 4:54 pm #87081Allen Craig will join the Padres' front office as an advisor to baseball ops, thus ending his playing career. In 6 big league season, he batted .276/.333/.435. He won the '11 WS, was an All-Star in '13 and is the only player to score a WS game-winning run on an obstruction call.
