MrperkinsParticipantPitcher Sam Tuivailala (mariners) season done with Achilles injury per mlb trade rumors
August 12, 2018 at 10:38 am #65082Tough one for Tui. I always liked him and think he has the potential to be an elite bullpen guy.
Have been watching the surprising Oakland Athletics rise in the standings. I am a bit of a Mariners fan, and they have played well all year and am enjoying seeing Marco Gonzales do well. But Oakland has passed them by, so I was curious as to how our buddy Stephen Piscotty is playing.
He has done alright – nothing spectacular, but okay; 29 doubles, 15 homers. OPSing around .760. His WAR is not all that great because he is a defensive liability, but he has bounced back with the bat to some degree. At this point I think we got the better of the deal for him with Munoz and Schrock, but good to see Piscotty playing pretty good and his team doing well.
August 12, 2018 at 11:15 am #65086The A’s are absolutely on fire. Not only should the Yankees worry about losing the fist wild card spot maybe the Astros should be looking in their review mirror. Sometimes objects are closer than they appear.
August 13, 2018 at 10:08 pm #65326After a month at Triple-A, Fernando Salas has been released by the Braves.
August 14, 2018 at 9:50 am #65378It is not only the Nats who are having bullpen troubles. It has hit even the big-money Dodgers.
The #Dodgers bullpen woes got worse when Dave Roberts revealed that newly acquired reliever John Axford will be sidelined about three weeks with a broken tip of his fibula.

August 14, 2018 at 9:53 am #65381The Dodgers got Machado and Dozier at the deadline but did nothing (except Axford) to address their bullpen problems. That was very puzzling. They may not even win their division now.
August 15, 2018 at 7:57 pm #65600I don’t know if anyone has been. Pricing but Nick Martini has been playing really well for the A’s in his role.
I was bummed when he departed even if I understood why. Solid player
August 17, 2018 at 9:08 pm #65794Matt Holliday sees his own single and raises himself a home run!
He now has hits in each of his last eight ABs. The round-tripper was Holliday's third homer of the season for the #ABQTopes!
This kid has potential.

Wow. That’s terrible news. Pham and Diaz (mentioned earlier) are a couple of my favs.
August 23, 2018 at 10:31 am #66493It appears Holliday will be activated by the Rockies today, just in time for our arrival.
August 24, 2018 at 10:31 am #66626August 24, 2018 at 11:08 pm #66747Luke Voit had 2 homers for the Yankees tonight. Did he always have tha little hop after a big fly?
August 27, 2018 at 9:26 pm #67075August 27, 2018 at 10:13 pm #67078Former Springfield Cardinal Robby Rowland has joined the podcast world! He was entertaining to talk with as a pitcher so he has to be on his show, too! https://t.co/soQlZCx6DH

August 31, 2018 at 3:06 pm #67595Source confirms reports the Cubs are signing lefty Jaime Garcia who was released by Toronto. Lefty hitters hit .188 off him this year. Its a minor league signing which provides depth in an area of need. https://t.co/MntrZuqGbF

August 31, 2018 at 6:29 pm #67631There he will join Robert Stock, another ex-#stlcards prospect who has done a very good job out of the #Padres bullpen (2.22 ERA, 9.2 K/9).

September 2, 2018 at 10:00 am #67799Six years ago…@JMotte30 asked us to add the word Cancer to a shirt that we made with a backwards K on the front. Today, all 30 teams will be wearing their own #KCancer tee to join Jason in his quest to Strike Out Cancer. That's amazing. pic.twitter.com/ZgzJ2zIKpN

September 2, 2018 at 12:44 pm #67821Good for Robert Stock. He at least gets to play the game he loves. I remember when the Cardinals drafted him as a catcher, they wanted him to learn how to pitch. But he told them he wanted play catcher because he would ‘get to play every game’. So they let him catch and he failed. It cost him a lot of money to not listen to his advisors. But at least it looks like it it working out in the end.

September 3, 2018 at 10:07 am #67992Pete Kozma cannot be destroyed with conventional weapons.
https://twitter.com/retrosimba/status/1036627759852924928September 3, 2018 at 10:34 am #67993LOL at Pete’s resilience, he is consistent. Was thinking about him a couple days ago. I’m sure he is very familiar with the DFA/outrighting process, having gone though it with four different teams. When the Tigers added him to their roster in May this year, he hit a HR in his first plate appearance. Does that ring a bell? Seems like I remember he did something similar for the Cards when they first brought him up.
September 5, 2018 at 4:42 am #68226Former Cardinal Dan Kiekhefer promoted by the A’s and pitched a shutout inning vs the Yankees.
