jj-cf-stlParticipantBikemike due for some payback towards me. We both need a CF’r. If he grabs my top choice he will have earned it. I think my CF COULD slide through a couple more rounds.

stlcard25ParticipantI bet if bccran was in on our draft, he’d be anxious to draft Harrison Bader for CF. 😁
January 10, 2022 at 4:09 pm #178915Speaking of Bader I read an article about him substitute Teaching. Good for him.
January 10, 2022 at 4:20 pm #178916Worst job on earth. You are either bored to tears or under seige.

January 10, 2022 at 6:55 pm #178919Did flood21 make a pick after Darrell Porter?
January 10, 2022 at 7:05 pm #178921Ah, I see he took Furcal. Hopefully I don’t rain on JJ’s parade with this one. A guy we gave away during that decade of horrible deals.
#74 – bicyclemike – Jose Cruz, CF
January 10, 2022 at 7:53 pm #17892254 war was the most of any of left. That was a lot of value to give away.

stlcard25ParticipantGrabbing a slick fielding HOF SS who allegedly invented the way we see continuous motion catch and throw that we see today…

81. mudville – Has the next two at batsJanuary 11, 2022 at 9:50 am #178938I had been toying with taking Wallace for the past four rounds because his three year run with the Cards was truly great averaging 90 r.b.i.’s.
What kept me away were the error totals I mentioned in an earlier post. He was considered a good fielder for the time, though.January 11, 2022 at 9:58 am #178939
stlcard25ParticipantObviously there is some need to temper stats and even talents based on eras. Some of the old school pitchers would likely throw much harder today with the training and diet regimens that are now employed. A light hitting infielder probably would not be playing if he hit 0-4 HRs like a guy would in the dead ball era. Likewise, Wallace was known for being a revolutionary defender in the early 1900s and probably would be a good defender with the tools he had in any era.
Still, it’s fun to mesh together a team from all sorts of eras and see how they fit together.
January 11, 2022 at 10:12 am #178940The worst fielding I have noticed in this exercise was Richie Allen at third base.
January 11, 2022 at 10:15 am #178941This has indeed been fun. It has consumed my time to the point that the lockout can just go on until we are finished for all I care.
