Wow…what a sneaky pick. Didn’t see that coming.
I would like to take the best third baseman to ever play the game:Nolan Arenado.

    7. Nigel T Nolan Arenado – 3B

    Stlcard25 is on the clock.

Dizzy is one of the very few number ones anyone could arguably support. Three of the big five are now gone.

Remember, mudville…you get the next two picks (9 and 10) due to the nature of the snake draft. We will give you 24 hours for each pick, but feel free to pick back to back at once.

I just couldn’t pick Carlton even though he was the clear choice. 90 war is indisputable.
It’s 20 more than any other choice I could think of, but he was always killing us. I don’t have any positive memories of him.
If Nolan is worth 40 or 50 war next season, I will look pretty smart.

I don’t have any memory of Carlton pitching and I know he wasn’t as good with St Louis. But he was the best choice I could think of.

He was definitely the choice. I convinced myself I had no memories of Cy Young either when I was mulling him over.
In the end, I think Arenado and Goldy will end up looking pretty good. Of course Rolen showed how one injury can derail you. This assumes his knees weren’t the culprit.

Carlton was my favorite at the time he was a Card. Actually spoke to him down at the bullpen which was down the RF line past the dugout. Great pick.

I know…right? This is so frustrating when someone steals your pick and your guy. Luckily my overall number one pick is still on the board, but I will be saddened when he doesn’t make it back to me.

This is why I suggest trades. I feel badly that you don’t have Simmons.
I would trade Simmons and my next pick for Carlton and your next pick.

I don’t mean to complicate things or question Stlcard25’s authority.
We are just the trade-suggestingest bunch of mugs evah.

It’s very difficult to handle trades without the ability to edit posts, so I’d prefer to just stick to the given order. If we had a legit competition going and a way to track it all, then trades could be fun.

This is tougher than it appeared. The options I’m looking at with this next pick of mine give me a headache. Hard to leave the heart out of it. Also be interesting to see how everyone’s own team would look. No draft. All players available.

That is totally fine. I am pleased with the format. I simply lead a sadder life than most apparently with far too much time to revel in trivialities.

Not a huge deal, gscottar. That’s why I set the time limit of 24 hours between picks. It’s fun to have something to pass the time while we wait on baseball to come back.
