Would anyone here be interested in a fun post-New Years exercise to come up with your own team? I’ve got in my mind how it would work with up to 10 teams, snake draft style. An average of 3 picks per day would take us to right around when players would report to camp. I thought it might keep folks logging in to the site.
Anyway, it would look like this:
1. 15 player team: All the standard positions, no DH, 2 bench players, 5 pitchers
2. You’d be picking players as a whole, so it would be picking “Edgar Renteria,” NOT “2004 Edgar Renteria,” for example. When we get to point 5, all bets are off then.
3. Anyone who played for the Cardinals major league team for at least one full season is eligible. So no current prospects or guys who were traded away as prospects.4. Picks will begin January 1st and go as quickly as folks check in to make them, with a max of 24 hours between picks. If you don’t make your pick within 24 hours, you’ll forfeit that pick until after all the standard picks are made and we’ll fill in those picks at the end.
5. At the end, we argue over which team is best, as we always do. Lol

10.Great idea. Covid took me out of the community prospect rankings as my headache eliminated looking at screens for a few days, but this I would gladly throw up a few times in order to play.
Hey, I like this idea. I know a lot more about former and current big league players than prospects. About the only thing I know about prospects is the guys that are close to the big leagues. But anything below AAA and I usually have no idea who might be good, with an occasional exception like a Walker-type. That’s why this site helps so much. You guys really have the insights.

Not too complicated, KS. Step 1 in the first post answers your questions. Common sense fills in the rest. For Ankiel, if drafted you would need to specify a position for him.
Only if you can get both of those guys, but my guess is commish StL will veto a position switch. š
