I was very impressed last night. The Cubs quickly put three on the board to seize momentum on the road. Just as quickly, the Brewers answered and from there, it seemed clear which team would win.

Yes, the Crew looks like they may finally make some post season hay, as it’s been 43 years since they last had a decent playoff run. As BicycleMike mentioned earlier, could we be looking at a Milwaukee- Seattle series? The networks wouldn’t like it, but I sure would. When I was a kid, I had some old baseball cards from the 60’s. The only Seattle Pilots card that I remember was Tommy Harper. But if I recall correctly, most of the Pilots baseball cards were pretty boring….just head shots. Anyway, I have mixed feelings on this Brewers-cubs series. Part of me wants the cubbies to get drubbed 3 straight, but I also wouldn’t mind being in attendance for an exciting Game 5 where cubbie fans hearts were once again shattered to pieces. A 5 run 9th by the Crew to win it 6-5 would do the trick just fine.
As predicted the Mariners and Tigers are in a rain delay at Tiger Stadium.
From the looks of the Doppler Radar it shouldn’t last too long.
Great meteorological call once again, Rat! As Rat said, they’re finally playing ball in the Motor City and the Mariners have cruised on out to an early 4-0 advantage. Gilbert looking great thus far here in the 4th.
Watching the blue jays yankees. Its hard to be a yankees fan. They are disastrous on defense and i blame a lot of that on boone. Also boone haa left his pitcher in to give up 6 runs n counting. Its a elimination game, you cant manage like you got a game to give away. He should be fired immediately after the game if they dont make some momentous comeback.
I’m surprised Boone’s hung on this long, Willie. In any case, the Blue Jays are looking like the Cito Gaton led edition’s of the early 90’s. They’re really outclassing the Yankees in this ALDS.
The Tigers began their home half of the 9th trailing the Mariners by a score of 8-1. It’s now 8-4 with a baserunner situated at 1B and 0 outs.
And the Judge just yankered a 3-run homer to tie the game.
6-6 now in the 4th.
I won’t be able to watch Cannon tonight now that it’s a game again.
The Mariners hang on for an 8-4 W over the Tigers to take a 2-1 games lead in their ALDS and guarantee that they won’t be eliminated in Detroit.
Judge finally gets the big blast, 3 run homer to tie it, dinger off the left field foul pole. His numbers have been super impressive minus the power. I wonder what happened to the intentional walk. Esp with the yankees, their other batters havent done much. They would have to beat me, not judge or guerro jr for that matter.
Outstanding defensive play in RF by Judge saves a run to prevent the Jays from taking the lead. It’s the Aaron Judge show at Yankee Stadium. He’s a good one.
Chisholm Jr. absolutely destroys a misplaced Varland fastball to lift the Yankees to a 7-6 5th inning lead. That pitch was really placed in the LH’ed hitter’s proverbial wheelhouse.
After that early 6-1 lead the Jays have let the Yankees get some air and take an 8-6 lead. If the Yankees can win tonight, this ALDS could get interesting.
We get action from all 4 LDS today and there’s a decent chance that all 4 of them will be decided when the finals of today’s games are placed in the books. At the same time, all 4 teams that trail 2-0 or 2-1 are pretty good and are perfectly capable of winning either 2 or 3 consecutive baseball games in order to rebound and revive their season. One of history’s all time great philosophers maintained that, “It ain’t over ’til it’s over”…And I’ve learned the hard way that it’s never wise to exude too much confidence until the final out is recorded and the portly lady belts out a song…It’s never easy in this league.
Detroit trails Seattle 2-0 but it could be worse. With the score at 1-0 in the visitor half of the 4th, the Mariners jammed up the bases with 0 outs, but the Tigers escaped with only 1 run crossing HP via a 6-4-3 GIDP.
The 3 big bats are due up for the Mariners in the 5th in the form of Arozarena, Raleigh and Rodriguez. That’s a total of 120 taters on the ’25 season.
And Raleigh makes it 3-0 with an RBI base hit after Arozarena leads off the 5th with a single and moves up into scoring position on a WP.
I’m not saying that the Mariners are sure to win it all (although they’d be the team I would root for to win it right now), but when you show up in October with a staff like they have and then add in guys like Raleigh and Rodriguez on offense…they seem to be doing it right. I really had hopes that the Cards could trade one of our hitters for their pitchers in years past, but it’s worked out for them that they didn’t make a trade.
