Well there goes my #2 guy with Willits #1 overall. I bet that is on a deal to save money as well, but draft models love Willits with his age and tools.
July 13, 2025 at 5:14 pm #287194Youngest guy to be drafted #1 overall
July 13, 2025 at 5:14 pm #287195Let’s see how this shakes out.
July 13, 2025 at 5:15 pm #287196I saw Austin Gomber pitch a few times in Peoria, which was low A then. He was so profoundly dominant he seemed like a sure thing if ever there was one. I learned my lesson about judging pitchers too soon.
July 13, 2025 at 5:18 pm #287197Wow Angels took Bremner. I had him higher than many at 9, but surprised to see him at 2 overall.
Please tell me the Cards to not take Arnold. Basically anyone else please
July 13, 2025 at 5:18 pm #287198Tyler Bremner goes 2nd. It’s chaos!
July 13, 2025 at 5:20 pm #287199Kade Anderson to Seattle is the word on the street.
July 13, 2025 at 5:21 pm #287200Which means Holliday to Colorado at 4. If the Cards take a college pitcher, I have my fingers crossed it is Doyle. Really hope they will take Aiva though
July 13, 2025 at 5:21 pm #287201I can’t imagine Anderson would last much longer.
July 13, 2025 at 5:24 pm #287202Seattle is a good org for Anderson. I think they can get the most out of him and help him succeed. Anderson is more control over command and I think he has a lot of work there to go.
July 13, 2025 at 5:26 pm #287203Yes the Rockies will take Holliday. That means the Cardinals could go in several different directions.
Doyle
Arnold
Witherspoon
Parker
ArquetteJuly 13, 2025 at 5:28 pm #287204Yeah we can dare to dream but Holliday was going to Colorado I think even before the first 2 picks. Seen a few projections pivot towards him at Colorado.
July 13, 2025 at 5:28 pm #287205I wouldn’t exclude Billy Calrson as some mocks have had him to the Cards. I would prefer Carlson over the non Aiva players. Best player available with high upside. I’m not concerned about the number of SS in the org. Draft SS all day as they are the best athletes and then from there you can move them to other positions if needed
July 13, 2025 at 5:30 pm #287206It is Liam Doyle to the Cards according to Longenhagen
July 13, 2025 at 5:31 pm #287207Take Doyle!!
July 13, 2025 at 5:31 pm #287208I’m satisfied with Doyle. I would have obviously preferred Aiva, but Doyle was the best college arm in terms of upside
July 13, 2025 at 5:33 pm #287209Doyle is not a bad pick. He was one of the top pitchers from the best conference in the country.
July 13, 2025 at 5:36 pm #287211Doyle is a very different type of pitcher than the org has typically targeted, which I think is at least a fantastic change. Dominant fastball who will be a K focused pitcher.
July 13, 2025 at 5:39 pm #287212For what it is worth Doyle was Longenhagen’s #1 overall on his board. That is 2 years in a row the Cards have taken his #1 ranked player
July 13, 2025 at 5:40 pm #287213I wish we could’ve gotten a look in our draft room.
July 13, 2025 at 5:44 pm #287214Arquette to Miami. I think highly of the guy but hate the team. Miami feels like an org wehre guys go to not properly be developed.
July 13, 2025 at 5:46 pm #287215I rarely am right on who the Cards pick.
July 13, 2025 at 6:00 pm #287218At least my draft board looks much better than MLB Network’s at this point. I will say hearing Harold Reynolds you can tell he doesn’t know much about the players and just knows the names. They should let the others talk more especially Carlos Callazo

Reynolds sounds like the least knowledgeable of the 5 for sure and likely for some reasons you suggested.
July 13, 2025 at 6:15 pm #287220I like Doyle quite a bit, and the Cardinals definitely need him to work out for their future rotation, as the last couple of college lefty’s they took in the first don’t look like they are going to do much.
