Yeah, Willie, at 94 pitches I don’t think Mendoza really had a choice, but it sure didn’t work out like the Mets would have liked.

ParticipantYea probably right but butto didnt have it. Going full count on a guy hitting 199 is never a good sign.
October 3, 2024 at 8:28 pm #268840Looks like the Brew Crew is about to put the Mets to bed for the winter.
October 3, 2024 at 8:34 pm #268842They’ve got 3 outs to spend. It’s normally never easy, so we’ll see what happens.
October 3, 2024 at 8:36 pm #268843Williams out there on the mound playing with his stereo system…Get the baseball and throw it.

ParticipantI guess the tech failed. Pitcher couldnt pitch because he wasnt getting a signal
October 3, 2024 at 8:37 pm #268845Didn’t pay his cable bill…
October 3, 2024 at 8:38 pm #268846Lead-off BB. That ain’t too sweet.
October 3, 2024 at 8:41 pm #268847Uhh oh…
October 3, 2024 at 8:44 pm #268848It’s never easy…3-2 Mets.
October 3, 2024 at 8:44 pm #268849I was testing my jinx skills. They are confirmed.

ParticipantMets holding up a omg sign. What was that about turning into wwe on the pete rose thread.
October 3, 2024 at 8:48 pm #268852It’s hard to believe they allowed Alonso to beat them with Iglesias on deck, but it’s also difficult to allow the lead run to reach base. At any rate, the lead-off BB always seems to be a curse. It set the tone of the inning.

ParticipantAlonso is feeling it. That kind of feeling is rare but its like a crazy high.
October 3, 2024 at 8:55 pm #268854It’s a 1 run game. I’d say it ain’t over but…It ain’t over. Whoops, I can’t count. Mets win it. That’s too bad.
October 3, 2024 at 9:07 pm #268856This post season, especially the NL, shows that deep pockets own this thing. All big, big spenders are in the final four standing. It just shows the overwhelming gap between the Cardinals and the leaders of the NL. If the Brewers are your goal your wasting time and money BDW III.

ParticipantThats a hard one for brewers and their fans. Something about the brewers closer. Hes always been good but it seems at the biggest moments he fails. Its always a bitter moment for the young fans in particular when they lose a deciding game at home. I imagine a few tears were spilled. But it was a great game. That lead off walk though. As a pitcher i would rather give up a homer there than the walk.

ParticipantTexascard that is so wrong. The brewers were super close to winning it. Sure they didnt but it was just a chance thing. Alonso usually doesnt come through in those situations so good for him.
October 3, 2024 at 9:18 pm #268860I’d guess that the bosses at MLB are happy about these 4 LDS matchups as 3 of the 4 involve a battle of division foes and the remaining Royal/Yankee series is a genuine David and Goliath struggle. Go Royals!
October 3, 2024 at 9:19 pm #268861How’s it wrong. The team with the power won and so did the other three. Close doesn’t matter. The off-season is here for them. They just didn’t have the horses in the end and lost two of three at home and frankly should have been swept.
October 3, 2024 at 9:25 pm #268862No more Front Row Amy until the 2025 season starts now.
Every cloud has it’s black lining.
October 3, 2024 at 10:08 pm #268865I’ll hold off from proclaiming that he’s a modern day Whitey Ford, but Quintana’s looked pretty good in his two most recent turns in post-season games. He’s yet to allow an ER in his last 11.1 IP’ed in post-season games. He strikes me as looking pretty composed out there on the pitcher’s mound when he’s working in high stakes baseball games.
October 3, 2024 at 10:13 pm #268866In other news, it’s being reported that the Reds are going to hire an experienced field manager to situate himself on the top step of the Red’s dugout. His name is Terry Francona.
October 3, 2024 at 10:58 pm #268870The two NLDS series are kind of juicy, although I’ve never pulled for any of the teams. It won’t hurt me to see any of them lose, but I don’t want to see LAD, PHI, or NYM win. So the edge goes to SD and Shildt for me. Also, don’t be shocked if Edman goes on to win NLCS MVP, lol.
