We may finally see Woodford in a game. He has to be the guy we go to doesn’t he?

Q definitely doesn’t have his best stuff going on today. If he can get us through 5 frames with under 4 runs being scored, I’d take it in a flash. Still 3-1 Birds with the bases totally crawling with Diamondbacks.

Indeed, one would think Woodford, BicycleMike.

Pugs on O’Neil: But did they warrant having his uni hanging next to the likes of Gehrig, Mantle, Ruth and Jeter for an eternity?

So you’re saying Jeter is akin to Ruth, Gherig, Mantle? (not to mention DiMag and Whitey ford)
What are you smoking today m’boy?

AZ gets 3 in the 2nd to knot matters up at 3-3.

Wow, Q is not on it today. Hope we don’t burn up our bullpen prior to the 5 game set in Chicago.

Ah yes…..make an errant post and the esteemed Carter Le Grand will always call me out on it. Point well taken, Carter.

I hope Quintana settles in. 5 H and 2 BB in 2 IP. He won’t last long like that.

This umpire should be taken off the field now. He’s worse than Hernandez.

    Top of 3.

Nooty on 3-2 walks…..as the last 2 pitches could easily have been called strikes and not conjured up any arguments from the visiting team ….great eye, Nooty!

Donovan walks and now Merrill Kelly is finding himself in troubled waters once again. Both starters here today have not brought their A games with them.

Goldy pops out to Perdomo at SS.

Arenado ….first pitch called a ball and that didn’t sit well with Ollie at all as he jets out to the HPU to give him heck…..and now he’s been ejected. Nolan flies out to deep center…Nooty will advance to 3rd base.

Gorman flies out to McCarthy in center and the Cards miss a golden opportunity to seize the lead.

    Cards 3
    Diamondbacks 3

In Yankee lore, Jeter is just as respected as the other guys. I’m a lifetime Yankee fan and I put him up there. He’s not up there far as his numbers though they aren’t too bad. But otherwise he belongs.

Q just doesn’t have it today. I’d surrender my left pinkie finger to have a fresh Neil Pallante out in the pen today.

A pitchers third best friend (DP) bails Q out once again.

A two out base hit now propels AZ into a 4-3 lead.

Q with a whopping 73 heaves as he walks another Diamondback…..and he’s done for the day as they’re coming for him. Looks like Stratton is up next.

I wonder if Jordan Luplow is related to former Cleveland Indian Al Luplow. I have a bunch of Al Luplow baseball cards from the ‘60s.

Looks like the Crew will get a win today in Wrigley. Our club need to take no less than three of those five coming up this week.

This is like watching a combination of Hicks and Reyes pitch. Q is being lifted. Just did not have the command today. A couple of DP balls have kept this from being a much worse deficit. Not sure who is coming in. The announcing crew never showed who was warming up.

And it is still not Woodford. Stratton gets the call.

Stratton does his job as he induces a groundout to Goldy at 1st base to retire the side.

We have now seen good and bad Quintana! Hope to see way more good! He looked a lot like Hudson today! Always behind and walking people is a recipe for disaster as we all know and have learned again this year from Hudson, Hicks, Cabrera et al!

Derek Jeter? The guy collected 3465 hits. But that’s nothing compared to this…He played SS in a full regular season’s worth of post-season games at 158 games. In those 158 games, he collected exactly 200 hits, 20 HR’s, 61 RBI’s, a .308 BA and scored 111 runs. Those are full season MVP award numbers for the type of player he was. And oh, I almost forgot… 5 world championships. Jeter was no joke.
