Well, that’s the kind of relief work we like to see!
August 21, 2022 at 6:03 pm #196904Dodged one there. That baseball’s got a mark on it.

ParticipantGoldy saves the day
August 21, 2022 at 6:04 pm #196906I missed it pretty bad on O’Neill. After his season last year, and this being his age 27 year I thought he would be having the kind of season Goldy is putting up.
I am surprised he has regressed. He is at the prime baseball age.

jj-cf-stlParticipantCabrera on zero days rest is a horrible decision on its own. Oli overmanaging again, searching for someone to have a bad day.
August 21, 2022 at 6:12 pm #196908Top of 8. Noe Ramirez on for Arizona.
Dickerson grounds it down the line at 1st, but that’s right where Walker was playing as he gloves it and underhands his throw to the streaking Ramirez for the out.
DeJong on 3-2 walks.
DeJong out trying to swipe 2nd base.
Knizner….if he could just hit about .230-.240, I’d love to see Andrew as our backup catcher for many years to come. He walks.
Knizner to 2nd on a wild pitch.
Nooty on 3-2 walks.
Edman lines it up the middle and out into center field for a base hit …. Knizner is heading towards 3rd and had been given the green light by Pop to keep on a going …and he’ll score with Nooty going to 3rd base….6-4 Birds . And that’s it for Ramirez

August 21, 2022 at 6:13 pm #196909OMG we are losing a lotta men on the bases lately!
August 21, 2022 at 6:13 pm #196910jjcfstl…Oli took an early shower. Skippy’s pulling the levers.
August 21, 2022 at 6:15 pm #196911
jj-cf-stlParticipantGood catch, memo to skip, don’t follow the script, less is more.
August 21, 2022 at 6:15 pm #196912LeGrand…Seems that way. Redbirds haven’t had much success running on Kelly this series.
August 21, 2022 at 6:15 pm #196913If you would have told me before the year started that on August 21st Edman and O’Neill would be tied in homers I would have guessed either Edman was on steroids and having a huge year or O’Neill had completely cratered and had had a disastrous season! Obviously it is the latter!

Why not 1st string?
August 21, 2022 at 6:18 pm #196915
jj-cf-stlParticipantHe had to walk 3 batters to get to you Edman. Burn him.
August 21, 2022 at 6:19 pm #196916jjcfstl…I thought you may have tuned in late. Oli got the heave-ho in the 3rd inning, I think. I was worried he may get a fine or a suspension for a second. He was pretty spun up and almost made contact with HPU Buckner.
August 21, 2022 at 6:20 pm #196917Let’s hope Eddie keeps it up. Nice 2 out RBI base hit for the cushion run.
August 21, 2022 at 6:21 pm #196918
jj-cf-stlParticipantAll good TD.
There’s the contact BB was looking for.August 21, 2022 at 6:21 pm #196919JJ CF: He had to walk 3 batters to get to you Edman. Burn him
Duly burned
August 21, 2022 at 6:26 pm #196920Why not 1st string?
I think Knizner is going to make a dandy backup catcher, Carter. Not everyone is made up to be a starter.
Goldy lines out to left to conclude the Cardinal 8th…..6-4 Birds.
Cabby pitching the 8th.
August 21, 2022 at 6:30 pm #196921Who works the 9th, Gio?
August 21, 2022 at 6:30 pm #196922Cabby deals a perfect 8th.
Stratton, Woody and now Cabby have all done their jobs well today.
Yeah, Gio, TD……or do you trot Cabby out there again? When Cabby is on he’s on….and he’s on today.
August 21, 2022 at 6:34 pm #196923Nado now at 81 RBI’s. Should have both corner IF’ers with 100 RBI’s and GG’s when they close the books on the regular season. Pretty good.
August 21, 2022 at 6:36 pm #196924Top of 9. Journeyman Ian Kennedy on for Arizona.
Arenado pops out to Rojas at 2nd.
Gorman strikes out swinging.
O’Neill lines it into left field for a hit.
Carlson flies out to Stone Garrett in left.
STL 6
AZ 4August 21, 2022 at 6:39 pm #196925Gorman striking out way too much, about same as O’Neil
August 21, 2022 at 6:39 pm #196926Here comes the scary part!
August 21, 2022 at 6:40 pm #196927Now it’s all up to the human glacier.
