Marmol’s refusal to use Woodford is beyond idiotic now

Pallante can easily go more than two innings, has done it many times. Maybe when you refuse to use pitchers that are on your staff that have done well is why you get into trouble as a manager. Blaming it on fact we don’t have helsley available is giving the manager a pass.

    Marmol is a Matheny clone

I think Woodford can be like Pallante if he would ever get a chance.

I called it before, marmol. Would pull pallante, even if he was pitching well

Haha…DBacks scuffle for a rally to make a game out of it and Chase Field goes quiet. All the Redbird fans in attendance are worried.

You got a four run lead going in to the eighth. Even with Helsley here it should not come down to that.

Yeah, Hudson only goes 4-5 innings per outing. You pretty much have to figure you are either going to piggyback Pallante or Woodford on his starts.

Or you can just blow the entire bullpen.

Gallegos does a good job. Man, this was an easy win made tense. Would be nice to tack on a run or two here.

Well if you are going to have Pallante go three or four innings out of relief that means you can only use him once or twice a week. A better idea would be to have other bullpen guys that are good or have a starter who can go more than 4 1/3 innings.

Probably the right move, but the kid in me wants to see the Great Pujols.

    Big RBI base hit.

Or maybe use all the pitchers in your roster especially if the ones not being used are better than the ones you are using

Marmol certainly isn’t perfect but his team could be five games ahead in the division after tonight. Meanwhile LaRussa’s team wouldn’t be in the playoffs if the season ended today. Just saying.

This team has won in spite of it’s manager not because of it.

I would say that Helsley and Pallante are the only two relievers we have right now that you feel good about in high leverage situations. We need more than two.

I think that would be hard to prove willie.

DeJong up with the bases loaded and no outs. Chance to break it open. Wooster probably mulling over the BLD stats right now.

8-4 is not a high leverage situation. I would easily trust Woodford there. But I would trust Woodford with less than that. Dejong hits a granny.
