Nootbaar looks like he’ll be a very good baserunner.

Love how Nooty uses the entire field. He will bunt, take the ball the other way. Just has good instincts.

Curt Flood would be happy for the guy now wearing his number.

DeJong is now 0-20 with 12 Ks in his last 6 games. He’s come full circle.

Bicyclemike, I appreciate your thoughts on Gorman and I agree with ball jumping off his bat. But the ball has to hit his bat first. I know lots of people like his slugging numbers and forget about his strikeouts when he hits long balls. But I’m old school when it comes to hitting.

Whoa, didn’t think O’Neill even swung at that. But that is his problem. He lets too many hittable pitches go and then goes after balls you cannot do much with.

He seems hesitant on good pitches early in the count, when he should be ready to jump on them.

He has a .320 OBP, which is higher than Carlson and Edman.

McCarthy homers off Hicks to lead off the Arizona 8th….8-5 Cards now.

Sheesh – Marmol, come on. Woody brings this one home and you go with Hicks and already give them a run.

Marmol should’ve left pallante in, he was doing just fine til marmol regurgitated Matheny! That’s why I don’t like Marmol

Yeah. That was my thought when I saw them bring him in.

And now Gallegos is warming up. Marmol really feels bad for the home crowd and wants them to have a shot.

Pallante didn’t allow a hit in 2 IP. He’s not going to work tomorrow anyway. Why not stretch him out tonight? Now we got genuine trouble.

I don’t know why marmol keeps turning to Hicks. I agree with another poster, might as well keep pallante in. He’s probably done for tomorrow anyway. Now Hicks not hustling to the bag.

You could see this coming. Why in the world would you bring Hicks in when you have better options.

Marmol must be watching a different game than I am.

My point was, even with the strikeouts, he is still getting on base at a decent clip, which figures to increase as he becomes more acclimated to major-league pitching.

Pallante did his job. Expecting him to go more than two innings in relief is asking a lot.

Not having Helsley really hurts. Trying to close out the game with Hicks and Gallegos is going to be an adventure.

I guess Hicks skipped the Spring training drills. Get his butt out now. This has been completely unnecessary.

Yeah, go get him now. One run game with the tying run aboard and no outs. Nightmare.

And now we have Gallegos, which is not much better. All you had to do was either give Pallante another inning or bring Woodford in and this one was easy.

But you bring in the arsonists and you just might give her another game away.

Anyone but Pallante or Helsley is iffy at best! The others have all failed so often you know they have no confidence and neither do I!
