LOL, DeJug is on a hot streak, 0 for his last 18. Five strikeouts in six at bats so far in Arizona. Hey Ollie, how much longer are we going to have to suffer watching this guy bat?

Some guys other than the big two are doing it tonight. I thought Knizner would be gunned down, but the throw was cut off.

Need an easy home half inning. First little sign of trouble, I’d go out and get him.

I too think that you’d whiff DeJong, Steve.

Thanks for the Yadi update on his team winning the Puerto Rican basketball championship, Oliver. He’ll probably want to come back and play now…..but I’m not sure I want him back at this point.

Man, Carlson had a pitch to hit on the 3-1. The 3-1 is a prime hitter’s count and you always need to be ready to pull the trigger in that situation. Decent pitch to hit on 3-2 as well, but got a little under it.

Do the cardinals even have a backup shortstop?

    Always with the deep counts.

The option at short is to put Edman there, and Gorman at second. I think you have to do that these last six weeks. I mean Gorman can’t do any worse, and he has a future. DeJong is toast. Might need to eat the final year of that contract.

Varsho helps us out by swinging at two pitches out of the zone.

Hudson keeps the Diamondbacks off the scoreboard in the 4th, but has now amassed 89 pitches. I’d love to bring Neil Pallante into the game at this point, but do not recall when he last pitched?

Anyone would be okay! Edman can play! I’m the last two years Dejong is 94 for 557 a 170 batting average! I wonder how many other 170 hitters have been allowed to bat 557 times in the last two years! The answer would be one, Paul Dejong! Why? I just don’t get it!

Seems like Hudson never works a clean inning. I’m not at all sure I’d consider handing him the baseball for the 6th. Game’s tied and getting late. Need to stay in a position to win.

They don’t like starting Gorman against LH starters. You can guarantee he will be starting at 2B with Edman at SS against RH starters though. At this point it might be time to just let Donovan get the starts against lefties. He hangs in there well.

Meanwhile, we just do not seem to have anyone that can hit at the top of the lineup. Edman, Carlson, and O’Neill aren’t getting it done. I think I would go with Noot and Donovan at the top of the order.

    Top of 5.

O’Neill grounds it down to Alcantara at 3rd, who has been a most busy man tonight, and he’ll field it and throw Tyler out at 1st base.

Goldy flies out to Thomas in center.

Arenado lines a wicked shot at….who else, but Alcantara at 3rd base to retire the side.

6th tater in 10 days for the great Pujols. He’s sent me time traveling back to ’06. Amazing.

Cardinals made a huge mistake when they traded Sandy Alcantara and the others for Ozuna! Alcantara has lower ERA than any Cardinals pitcher, except helsly, and he’s not a starter

Seems to me it would be the managers job to figure out a way to get Dejong out and Donovan in the lineup! It seems like a no brained to me!
