What a turn of events here. Carlson goes deep then Burnes, who is a cy young candidate, leaves with an injury.
he’s also looking for hard pitches now. burned by the changeup and goes yard on the cutter. i like his approach better now.

A lot of second guessing about keeping Kim in this game. I like the move. Kim deserves it and needs to be able to pitch in tight situations if the #stlcards play in October. This tweet may age badly quickly though.

Yet another RISP opportunity wasted in the fifth… This thing ain’t over…
1st and 2nd with no one out has a runs expectancy of 1.35 with a 62% chance of scoring at least 1. That’s…3 times the Cards have had that situation now, with no runs. To be fair, they did score one run on that spot in the 3rd. Still, with any sort of situational hitting this could be a 6-1 game. As is, the Cards are 1-12 with RISP.
Gallegos is back to his normal self. We need to have him ready to get back to ninth inning duty before the playoffs start.
Carlson is looking locked in at the plate. Would be good to have he and Fowler as the two freshest guys in the lineup to carry us a bit here.
