stlcard25ParticipantI would consider having Dejong bunt in that situation. Just like when I used to play golf and practice short gimme putts when my game was off to see the ball go in the hole…sometimes you’ve gotta see the bat connect with the ball to get some confidence back.

jj-cf-stlParticipantok rook, just be a hero, that’s all, no pressure
September 24, 2020 at 7:58 pm #141652Second inning: Another case of a runner in scoring position with one out and they can’t get the job done. In the first inning, it was Goldy and Carp. This time, Fowler and Carlson.

stlcard25ParticipantMan, lot of pressure being put on Burnes early but he’s held up. Would have been nice to at least get one run from that.
September 24, 2020 at 7:59 pm #141654
jj-cf-stlParticipantour current claim to fame is we’re driving his pitch count up, big deal
September 24, 2020 at 8:09 pm #141656
jj-cf-stlParticipantyou don’t know if kk is throwing a 69mph curve or 91mph fastball. disrupts timing very well.
September 24, 2020 at 8:13 pm #141659
stlcard25ParticipantAnother leadoff man on. Has any team ever gotten a leadoff man on every inning of a game and been shut out?
September 24, 2020 at 8:15 pm #141660
stlcard25ParticipantAnother grounder gets through. How about a fly ball here, Goldy?
September 24, 2020 at 8:16 pm #141661
stlcard25ParticipantHow about that?! Goldy strokes one into CF for a 1 run lead.
September 24, 2020 at 8:16 pm #141662
jj-cf-stlParticipantpile on!
September 24, 2020 at 8:18 pm #141663With our offense one run is piling on.
September 24, 2020 at 8:19 pm #141664
stlcard25ParticipantCarp gave that one a good poke, and the RF makes a nice play. Edman makes his second base running error of the inning and doesn’t advance.
September 24, 2020 at 8:21 pm #141665Edman baserunning mistake. Didn’t tag up to take 3B on a fly ball to the wall in RF for the first out. Molina then fans with two on.
September 24, 2020 at 8:21 pm #141666
jj-cf-stlParticipantshould Edman be on 3rd SoCal?
September 24, 2020 at 8:21 pm #141667What a dumb baserunning blunder by Edman!
September 24, 2020 at 8:22 pm #141668Wong, Edman, Goldschmidt string together back to back to back singles. 1-0 Redbirds. KK dealing. You’ve got about as good of a chance winning with that formula as you do with a bunch of homer/strikeout guys and poor pitching.
Go Cards.
September 24, 2020 at 8:22 pm #141669
stlcard25Participantshould Edman be on 3rd SoCal?
He should have scored. He misread Goldy’s single to CF as well.
September 24, 2020 at 8:25 pm #141670
jj-cf-stlParticipantouch, just one.
September 24, 2020 at 8:26 pm #141671
stlcard25Participant5 hits and a walk in three innings…1 run. You almost have to purposely sequence them perfectly wrong to manage that futility.
September 24, 2020 at 8:32 pm #141672should Edman be on 3rd SoCal?
I agree with others. Edman made two errors. He looked like Suppan running the bases from 3rd in game 3 of the 2004 World Series. Very hard to watch.
September 24, 2020 at 8:39 pm #141673
stlcard25ParticipantCould have expected that. Our opponents seem to miss no opportunity to score runs lately.
September 24, 2020 at 8:40 pm #141674
stlcard25ParticipantKK’s pitch county is quietly skyrocketing. The bullpen may get taxed tonight after all despite the very efficient start to the game.
September 24, 2020 at 8:44 pm #141675
jj-cf-stlParticipantwarning track power tonight
September 24, 2020 at 8:50 pm #141676
jj-cf-stlParticipantatta-boy rook!
September 24, 2020 at 8:51 pm #141677
stlcard25ParticipantFinally someone manages to put one over the wall. Well done, Dylan! 3-1 Cards
