Participant#41 Young
#42 Shew
#43 Valera I think its just a matter of time before he gets to the big team and stays. He hits for numbers, plays 3 INF positions (also some OF) and switch hits. His D is sound everywhere he plays.
#44 Trosclair He quietly had a very good season for the Chiefs. He plays 1B-2B but prefers first and is built more like a 1B. Has some speed for a big guy but it is those HRs that open eyes.
#45 Montero Third in the GCL (18 teams) in RBI and sixth in TB. !6 doubles and 6HRs are pretty impressive #s for that Rookie league. Played all but 3 games and had 147 ABs. Needs some work on his defense but he has time as he is only 19. He’ll be young for State College but that’s where he is headed for ’18.

43. Elehuris Montero – Showed some power potential this year and was voted by Baseball America as the 9th best prospect in the GCL; ahead of Machado, who was rated 18th.
44. Yuan Yepez – Okay, so I hated the trade, however, this kid has sneaky potential in all areas.
45. Breyvic Valera – Nothing more to prove in the minors, but my gut tells me he might be sacrificed off the 40-man roster for another prospect with higher potential.October 11, 2017 at 4:13 pm #35813PadsFS

My count shows:
#36 Denton- (26 points)
#37 JeMartinez (23)
#38 Pearce (22)
#38 Hurst (22)
#40 Oxnevad (18)14N – I have Pearce with 23. To break the tie with previous votes, I ended with Denton at 31 (+5 for MV), Pearce at 28 (+5 for BPN), Hurst at 26 (+4 for MV), Martinez at 23, and Oxnevad at 18.
I didn’t know how to include the previous vote to break the tie for Pearce/Martinez using BPN’s vote, without adding in mudville’s votes for Denton/Hurst. Should the previous rounds’ votes only be used to break a tie, but not count in the official record?
If that’s what yall want, then we would just leave Denton at 36, Pearce next, Martinez then bumps Hurst so they swap as prospects 38/39, ending with Oxnevad for 40.
October 11, 2017 at 4:32 pm #3581441. Sherriff – I’d like to highlight that against the 26 MLB lefties he face he held them to an .080/.115/080 line with 7 Ks no walks and only 2 hits.
42. Valera – MLB utility guy, worthy of a top 50 spot
43. Wisdom – I agree that with his 40 man addition he’ll likely see the majors next year. Good glove and pop.
44. Morales – I’m hoping that the move to the pen will help Morales fulfill some potential from his 2nd Rd selection. AA looked good with a 3.13 ERA and 11 K/9, hopefully he can refine the control some more and keep progressing. Still not that old at 24.
45. Mayers – I thought he’s had a solid minor league career, had a look at the majors, and hopefully will get a little bit better to hold down a role with the big league team.
October 11, 2017 at 4:48 pm #35815Wisdom was added to the 40 man roster?

ParticipantIt was reported that he *will* be.
October 11, 2017 at 6:13 pm #35821It was reported he *could* be.
October 11, 2017 at 7:04 pm #35826I think I have the same vote count for rounds 36-40 as Pads:
Denton 26
Martinez 23
Pearce 23
Hurst 22
Oxnevard 18I agree with 14Nyquist…. going back to prior rounds can get sticky, especially when you are going back more than one round.
Why not consider breaking the tie through seniority… i.e., awarding the prospect with the greater amount of time spent in the Milb or the Cardinals organization the higher prospect position? That info would be easy to check and it would keep it less complicated and less time consuming.

October 11, 2017 at 10:52 pm #35856BlackHills, I can probably do one more round… but it is getting tougher!

ParticipantI’m probably out at 50.
October 12, 2017 at 5:02 pm #35908I’ll keep going maybe to 60. After that I think you’re getting to some really long shots to ever sniff the majors.
October 12, 2017 at 5:51 pm #35912I vote to keep going as long as we all remember this is just for fun and education.
October 12, 2017 at 6:20 pm #35914CC did you vote this round? I might have missed your votes…
