With all the talent in Memphis, it’s easy to overlook a player like Rangel Ravelo, who was signed early-season after being released from another organization, but he’s only 22 and played very well for Memphis. And if you’re Nick Martini, do you leave as a minor league free agent and catch on with a team desperate for outfielders. He’s not quite Jose Martinez, but he could make it in the majors as a fifth outfielder. Mark Montgomery will certainly draw interest from other teams to be in their pens. I just wonder how many minor league free agents we lose. We are top heavy in young prospects at AAA & AA, so the older players being pasted can certainly see their futures backing up in our system.
October 28, 2017 at 8:58 am #37013I’ve already posted that I wouldn’t mind going to 100

We can vote for #71-75 and see how many voters we have and maybe it can spark some discussion too.

November 3, 2017 at 8:34 am #3724114NyquisTParticipantHas there been a list of the Community’s top 50 prospects posted anywhere?
November 3, 2017 at 11:02 am #37249I dont follow your question Nyquis. There is a list on page 1 of this thread but I sense that you mean something else.
November 3, 2017 at 6:52 pm #37256I feel like this thread is dead. I was hopeful we could have made it to 100
November 7, 2017 at 1:58 am #37373Interestingly enough, after a year in which we signed a record number of latino players for the DSL, it took me until pick 68 to get you guys to vote for at least one; Herrera, in the top 70. Now 18 of our current selections have played in the DSL, so it can’t be a talentless league. And with all the talent we placed on the team, some of it must be good right?
Like: 1. Ivan Herrera – c- 17 year old lead team with .335ba, 15dbs, .425obp, .866ops
2. Freddy De Jesus – 3b – Who hit 7 homers as a 17 year old, .429 slg
3. Victor Garcia – of – Missed part of the season, but came back strong. Ranked 19th in 2016 International class. Has big time power to all fields.
4. Jose Moreno – 16 year old starting pitcher; 3.18 era, 1.20 whip
5. Enmanuel Solano – Cardinal Nation starting pitcher of the year. 3.28 era, 49.1 ip & 39 hits
6. Dionis Zamora – 2.56 era, 42ks in 39ip, 6 saves
7. Pablo Gomez – ss- 17 years old and a .300 hitter, 8sb’s,
8. Cristhian Longa – c – .284 ba, .371 obp and 17 years old.
9. Jesus Cruz – P – Was terrific in DSL so promoted to State College; combined 17.1 ip, 9h, 27k’s
10. Franklin Soto – ss – 17 also, but .280ba, 8sb’s, 13dbs (second on team)I wonder if we’ve undersold them and how many will make the list next year.
November 7, 2017 at 9:35 am #37379And I like Carlos Soler better than any of the 10 you listed!
March 11, 2018 at 1:29 pm #4549014NyquisTParticipantIf you came here to check out the list…. go to PAGE 1
March 24, 2018 at 7:38 am #46217Winter hiatus is over and I am ready for Spring and some baseball! Looking forward to seeing how we did in our rankings and who the movers and shakers will be this season!
March 24, 2018 at 12:16 pm #4624714NyquisTParticipantOur #7-8-9 selections were traded leaving some possible prospects to move upward into those slots, Knizner-JAGarcia-Arozarena-Gomber-Munoz. Others will automatically will move up due to the void.
May 7, 2018 at 8:21 am #5132814NyquisTParticipantHarrison Bader has lost his prospect status by his time in at St Louis. MLB has already moved everyone else up one and added Hurst to #30.
May 7, 2018 at 10:17 am #51346PadsFSParticipantCarson Kelly (76 PAs) will soon lose his and Flaherty (31 innings) is on his way as well. Hicks (17 innings) is probably going to make it too.
May 7, 2018 at 10:44 am #51354Reyes will lose his prospect status in his first week back
