I keep telling people.
We don’t have anybody that can hit.
Every once in a while we score some runs but that’s about it.

San Francisco is clear and mild today and tonight. Highs in the low 80s and the lows tonight around 65 to 70. It’s almost a heatwave for this time of year there.
And din-din today is a Philly Cheesesteak from Subway. Lettuce, onions, mayo. green peppers, and some mustard. Plus a few baked beans from the deli at the grocery. Along with a piece of yellow cake with chocolate icing from the deli at Walmart. Along with a big glass of ice water. Tomorrow is my biannual visit with my hot nurse practitioner and I have been drinking a little extra water and jogging a little bit in preparation.

Taking a gander at the often hard to forecast meteorological conditions for Candlestick Park in San Francisco.
All looks pretty good for this series according to the NWS (National Weather Service). Highs in the 70s during the day and around 60 at night. No precipitation anticipated. However, I might need to verify this with Cecil. Cecil being Granny Clampett’s weather beetle that was almost 100% correct.
And remember, the Giants are in the final days of Mike Krukow’s broadcasting career as he is retiring at the end of the 2026 campaign.

A couple of errors and now it’s 4-3 Colorader.
Runner at 3rd, infield in.
5-3 Colorader now.
We are toast.
A two run wanger by Herrera and it’s 3-0 St. Louis.
Rockies getting to Libby in the 5th.
3-2 now and they got 1st and 2nd with one out.
Eddings will be umpiring at 3rdbase tonight.

This one doesn’t look too good on paper to me.
And the Redbirds rally for a 7-6 win.
Herrera jacked a 3-run dong in the top of the 9th!
Eddings isn’t a very good umpire.

All clear weather wise at Doyer Stadium tonight. But in case you are in the Buffalo, NY area it is raining and storming there.
Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for this one. We are having a couple of fish sandwiches with tartar sauce and a bowl of Turkey Hill Homemade Vanilla ice cream around first pitch. Along with an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew. Then a couple of 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigars to finish out the game.
And in case you are wondering……Milwaukee leads the Cubs 6-5 in the middle of the 6th at Wrigley. Misiorowski didn’t have it tonight for the Brewers.
My buddy, who has a buddy that works at GABP in Cincinnati, said that the concession workers, ushers, etc, etc, have already been told they probably won’t be needed until around the time of the All Star Break in 2027.
Not sure if there is any legitimacy here.

Taking a gander at the meteorological conditions out west for tonight’s shindig at Doyer Stadium.
All clear down in the far southwest so this one shouldn’t be an issue. The Doppler Radar also shows all clear in the midwest as well. However, as I’ve said many times, when it’s this hot and humid those little popup thunderstorms can occur at any minute. And it’s going to be 96 here in SW Indiana today.

There appears to be no precipitation in the St. Louis area for this one. All clear and it looks like this one will be played with no problems. There is, however, a big pile of green stuff way up in northern Illinois that could affect the Reds/Cubs tonight at Wrigley. And as is always the case, when it’s this hot and humid those little popup storms can occur on a moment’s notice.
Din-din today will be a ribeye steak in the air fryer as opposed to my little grill. It’s too hot to mess with grilling outside. Along with some mashed potates and an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew. Then a big brownie from the bakery at the store. Then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar whilst me and Whitey Herdog sit on the couch to watch the game.

And the Pirates win this one 6-2.
Cubs up on the Reds 17-5 in the 9th.
Doyers lost to Detroit today. 2-1 Tigers your final at Tiger Stadium.
All clear weather wise for this one. At least according to the Doppler Radar.
And yes Pugs, today was a CCFF. Had some at the Amish restaurant out on the lake just north of town.
And on a good note……the Cubs had a 3-0 lead on the Reds today. And just like yesterday the Reds bats came alive and they walked out of the friendly confines with a 10-8 win over the Cubs.
And the Cubs and Brewers start a series on Monday night in Miller Park. This one will be a three game set in Milwaukee.
If we were closer in the NL Central or Wild Card I would be in favor of picking up Eugene Suarez. He would have to be a better 3rdbaseman and hitter than either Gorman or Jordan.
Walker doubles in a run.
It’s 7-4 now.
2nd and 3rd one out.
Getting close to getting back into this one.
And the Reds did hang on to win.
10-9 Cincinnati your final at Candlestick Park today.
And weather wise all appears clear for the game at Sportsman’s Park tonight.
FYI here,
The Reds trailed the Giants at Candlestick Park 9-3 heading to the 9th.They scored seven (7) runs in the top of the 9th and take a 10-9 lead to the last of the 9th.
Alot of weird games in MLB recently.
Oh, and on a good note…….the Cubs lost again. 2-0 Arizona your final at the BOB.
Those last five in that lineup are weak.
Very weak.
As I keep saying we need a big bat in the lineup.
And a top of the line starting pitcher.
Taking a gander at the meteorological conditions for this one. Still too early to give a big thumbs up but all seems clear throughout the midwest at this point. And that includes the greater metropolitan area of downtown St. Louis as well.
However, as I said yesterday, we are over six hours away from first pitch so stay tuned.
And din-din today will be the weekly trip to the Amish restaurant, the Gasthof. Fried chicken, fish, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, cherry cobbler, sweet iced tea, and some vanilla soft serve ice cream for dessert. Then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar on the bench out on the front porch area.
Then home to, hopefully, get my new tire on my John Deere riding mower. It was almost impossible to get it off last night.
