In other words folks……what we got for May/Romero and Nootbaar was pretty much nothing.
More prospects – PROSPECTS – that will more than likely never really amount to anything. Most prospects don’t. Sometimes they turn out to be fair players but that’s about it. If they were projected to be outstanding big leaguers they would never have been traded in the first place.
Like I keep saying…….free agency is our only hope to be in contention in 27 or 28. And in the meantime we will wait for these prospects to develop. Good luck with that.
If it comes down between Burleson or Nootbaar I sure hope and pray it’s Nudie Bar that leaves and not Burleson.
Robbie Ray to the Padres.
Giants are really selling off.
Yep, the Doyers got Skubal.
I bet Liberatore was their 2nd choice if they didn’t get Skubal.
Still wondering about Luis Arraez.
I’ll say it again…….is Tommy John surgery looming for Skenes?
August 1, 2026 at 4:56 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #111 thread – Saturday, August 1 at Toronto Blue Jays #314850That’s even worse.
I didn’t see the game but I assume our hitters were once again swinging like maniacs, trying to slug it out there instead of just trying to make contact when the situations called for it.
August 1, 2026 at 4:43 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #111 thread – Saturday, August 1 at Toronto Blue Jays #314846I just got on here.
I see where we have only one run again.
Imagine that.
July 31, 2026 at 11:36 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #111 thread – Saturday, August 1 at Toronto Blue Jays #314749FYI here,
After getting hit alot with the Red Sox this year Wilson Contreras got buzzed up near the head last night at Doyer Stadium. He spun around and went down. Two pitches later he got beaned in the head. The Red Sox took him out of the game after the half inning was over.Nothing happened, no benches cleared, no retaliation.
July 31, 2026 at 8:57 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #110 thread – Friday, July 31 at Toronto Blue Jays #314743Not sure I’d want to trade for Paul Skenes right now.
He was ineffective again tonight. His start was in Cincinnati.
I wonder if Tommy John surgery is looming for him?
July 31, 2026 at 8:18 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #110 thread – Friday, July 31 at Toronto Blue Jays #314723Once again this team can’t score any runs.
How many games this week did they only score a run or two?
It would help if they had somebody – anybody – that could hit the ball.
July 31, 2026 at 4:57 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #110 thread – Friday, July 31 at Toronto Blue Jays #314696Taking a early gander at the Friday out-of-town scoreboard:
The aforementioned Flubs lost to the Yankees today at Wrigley Field. Rosario and Jones homered for the Bronx Bombers. 2-0 Yankers your final.
The Brewers are out west tonight to face the Angels at Anaheim.
Reds and Pirates about to square off at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati.
And in case anyone is wondering, yes indeed today was a CCFF. Cardinals Catfish Fiddlers Friday. Had a couple out at the Amish restaurant north of town that sits on the lake.

If we have the #1 catching prospect in all of MLB I’d be willing to trade him and, of course, get something in return.
July 29, 2026 at 8:33 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #108 thread – Wednesday, July 29 vs. Chicago Cubs #314519No, he was trying to slug it out there and hit it over the Arch.
That way he can add a homerun to his stats and maybe if he gets just a few more homeruns he will be able to get an extra 2-3 million on his next contract. That’s really all that matters.

July 29, 2026 at 8:23 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #108 thread – Wednesday, July 29 vs. Chicago Cubs #314517And Blaze pops out with the bases loaded and two outs to end the 6th.
Still 0-0 after six.
What really hurt was Winn swinging like a maniac when they had runners at the corners and only one out. Of course he struck out instead of just trying to put the ball in play.
July 29, 2026 at 8:13 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #108 thread – Wednesday, July 29 vs. Chicago Cubs #314515Either way you look at it we don’t have anybody that can hit.
July 29, 2026 at 3:34 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #108 thread – Wednesday, July 29 vs. Chicago Cubs #314481Weather wise all looks clear in the midwest tonight. Which means the Cubs will be in prime position to win another one at Busch.
Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for the first 2-3 innings of the Indians and Reds from Riverfront Stadium.
Later tonight we will tune in to the Seattle Mariners and the Los Angeles Doyers from Doyer Stadium. Boy, the Doyers sure blew one last night.
July 29, 2026 at 11:50 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #108 thread – Wednesday, July 29 vs. Chicago Cubs #314464We won’t get a good return for anyone we trade.
Then whomever we do get we will have to wait another 2-3 years for them to develop.
And in the meantime we will be like the Pirates and Reds have been for years – last place material.
We’ve got enough support players now. All we need is a big bat in the lineup and a frontline starter. And the only way those are going to get here is free agency. And for the record, I never considered Wilson Contreras a big bat in the lineup.
July 28, 2026 at 8:14 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #107 thread – Tuesday, July 28 vs. Chicago Cubs #314419What do we have to sell that anybody would want???
And what on earth would anybody give us for anybody we have???
July 28, 2026 at 7:52 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #107 thread – Tuesday, July 28 vs. Chicago Cubs #314411Before long we will be battling the Reds for last place in the NL Central.
If we aren’t already there, that is.
July 28, 2026 at 5:33 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #107 thread – Tuesday, July 28 vs. Chicago Cubs #314390The storm cell that was in central Missouri has apparently drifted south of the greater metropolitan St. Louis area and will not impact tonight’s game. And according to the Doppler Radar all clear in the midwest about an hour before first pitch.
But, as I’ve said before, when it’s this hot and humid those little popup thunderstorms can occur in a hurry. And trust me, it’s hot and humid out. I know because I just got done jogging outside.

July 28, 2026 at 1:32 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #107 thread – Tuesday, July 28 vs. Chicago Cubs #314382There appears to be a storm cell that is in central Missouri as I am typing this. Hard to tell yet whether it will impact the greater metropolitan St. Louis area later today. Stay tuned for further developments.
And din-din today will be a Subway BMT with lettuce, onions, mayo, mustard, some mashed potatoes, an ice cold Faygo Grape drink, and a big bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream. All of this whilst me and Whitey Herdog are on the couch watching the Indians and Reds in Game One of their DH today from Riverfront Stadium.
July 28, 2026 at 2:39 am in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #106 thread – Monday, July 27 vs. Chicago Cubs #314342How is the offense going to get out of a funk when they don’t have anybody that can hit?
July 27, 2026 at 6:22 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #106 thread – Monday, July 27 vs. Chicago Cubs #314278I doubt the rain delay will last very long.
However, Cleveland is in a rain delay at Cincinnati. From the looks of the Doppler Radar it looks like Riverfront Stadium could be in for quite a bit of wet stuff tonight. They will be fortunate to get that game in.
July 27, 2026 at 5:33 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #106 thread – Monday, July 27 vs. Chicago Cubs #314270According to the Doppler Radar there is a small cell about to hit St. Louis in the next hour or so. Not sure how this will impact the game or if it even will.
Stay tuned……
July 27, 2026 at 1:24 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #106 thread – Monday, July 27 vs. Chicago Cubs #314249I assume Liberatore is feeling the pressure heading into this one. Let’s hope he can come through and turn in a solid performance.
And meteorological conditions look favorable for this one tonight according to the Doppler Radar. All clear through the midwest. Chicago, however, appears to be getting a big dose of rain and storms as I type this.
Din-din today is a couple of baked potatoes, some Allen Cut Italian Green Beans, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and a big bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream.
And I am hungry too. I just took all my trash down to the dump/landfill in Montgomery. It’s about 90 degrees here today and humid and it wore me out loading them up and then throwing them out at the dump. It’s A/C time the rest of the day.
