Whew! Saggese did just save us 2 runs with that running catch into short right field. I think I was seeing things as I thought I saw that ball popping out of his glove.
I seriously question whether Gorman is ever going to get it together at the plate……..Saggese is thankfully heading in another direction than Nolan.
Knizner’s hung around plenty longer than I ever would have thought, but players like him have become pretty much routine in the Big Leagues these days. And he’s made plenty of money during his 8 season career too. I can’t off hand come up with another profession in which a guy can be just barely sorta’ so-so and be compensated with millions of dollars to do so. Not at all a bad gig.
Yep, a heck of a lot better than delivering bottled water in Phoenix in July or having to sell vacuum cleaners door-to-door, TD.
I saw some earlier comments that praised the hitting abilities of SF 1B’man, Devers. He can no doubt rip the baseaball and, at a still young 29 years of age, has pieced together an impressive 10 season career. And he excels in high stakes games as well. His post season numbers are right in line or better than the numbers he’s placed up on the board during the regular season. He amps up his bat with the onset of Autumn which is always in high demand.
Roupp only at 58 heaves with 1 out in the top of the 5th. We need to get that pitch count elevated and get to that volatile S.F. bullpen.
I think Quinn may have finished with an even-steven 100 pitches. Nice 6 innings out of our rookie. Too bad he’s received zilch in the all important run support category. Time to get rolling as Reiver Sanmartin( properly pronounced “san-marteen”) is now center stage for the Giants.
That’s all we hit is ground balls tonight……unfortunately few hit with much authority or adept at finding holes in the infield.
Bases gurgling over with Giants with no outs and Graceffo masterfully escapes unscathed…….what a huge momentum changer. How did Graceffo get those nasty bruises on his neck? I think they’re bruises, but at his age they could be hickeys……something I haven’t had inflicted on me in the last 40 years.
Seymour on to pitch in the top of the 8th…….I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing more Cardinal base runners and then runs this inning.
