My feeling going into June up until the break would determine if the Cardinals were the team we saw in April or the team we saw in May? It’s still early in June (4 games in), but even with a 3-1 record going into today, signs point to the team in May. Based on lack of offense, failure to come up with that big hit or make that big pitch.

You can’t fault Fowler’s for that one. He’s not use to being that far from Home plate unless he’s in the outfield or dugout

When I see Rizzo crowd the plate, it makes me wonder how pitchers like Nolan Ryan would have handled that. Nowadays pitchers seem almost apologetic when they throw inside

Well one of my predictions didn’t come true as MM is out of there. Hopefully he’s okay but I wouldn’t mind seeing someone else make a start or because MM is obviously not the same pitcher as last year. Does anyone know how Deleon, Reyes, and Gombers are doing?

How many times have Cardinal hitters started 0-1 or 1-2? And I don’t mean just this game but for the season.
I get working the pitcher but why not be a little aggressive and go after the first pitch. You never know, try something new. Because obviously taking the first pitch isn’t working

I try to stay optimistic about this team but it is hard at times.

0-2 pitch, MM maybe should have wasted a pitch and thrown a slider down and away, Baez has been known to go after those much like Ozuna does for us.

Surprised he’s not in the starting lineup. He’s had success against Hamels over the years.

Good day fellow buddies of a Cardinal nation. Who’s ready for a Cardinal victory today? I know I am
    Top 3 predictions
    1: Carp will Homer
    2: MM will go @ least 6
3 : we will have an inning we score 3 or more runs.

One positive thing about the rain delay last night is Waino will have an extra day rest so he would pitch Sunday night. They could even wait until the next series against Miami and put a call up in there but I dont see that happening esp against the cubs and it being a Nationally televised game.

Gscott. I realize our bats have been struggling as of late and our top hitters have been struggling but I also realize it just takes that one game, one series to get it going again so why not this weekend. I just hope the whole Molina-Bryant thing isn’t the main focus and it becomes more about the Cardinals – Cubs tradition and beating the cubs , not just about getting Bryant out

We take the lead. If we hold on, we will be 31-29, 2 games behind last year but to me this year has a different feeling, that we have a better team, and as poorly as we played in May.,, to be only 3 games out, I think is pretty remarkable.

MM3, you’re right it takes 1 bad game, 1 bad AB, 1 bad pitch and all of a sudden, fans are now managers, PC’s, HC’s, scouts, we have all the answers and if they would just listen to our ideas, they would win more. That’s what we think we are but above all, what we know we are is True and Loyal Cardinal Fans to the end so well question everything when it doesn’t go Cardinals way but praise when it does. Waino pitched a great game Sunday and we all Marveled at his performance, but If Wong doesn’t catch that ball, the focused more would be on Schildt and leaving him in there too long,

It’s funny how baseball works. Before the first series against the Cubs, I thought maybe we can take 2/3 because of how we were playing… we get swept. The second series… I was worried we’d lose the series based on how we were playing and we did the sweeping. Now we play the reds and look like we did most of May. We must be waiting to get to Wrigley for our bats to awake again.

You’re right about that black hills. I was just thinking with How we won… the walk off, wainos performance, that it my inspire us more to play harder but I don’t see it. Of course this is all a mute point if we win this game and then win the series at Wrigley.

I thought the weekend sweep would kick us in gear And it still could happen but not so far. We have such a ho hum attitude unless it’s the Cubs, at least it seems that way.

According to the weather report, they’re expecting rain throughout the night and with a day game tomorrow, it may not be long be for they call it. Of course I thought that last Saturday against the cubs.

Thanks Pugsley. It’s assuring to know I have my buddies at Cardinal nation to bail me out. Even the $5 from Rats would be helpful, even if he had to borrow it from you.
