Regroup and get a ground ball to an IF’er.
August 12, 2022 at 9:20 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195238Well, let’s see. Montgomery’s career with the Redbirds now consists of 11 IP with 9K’s, 3 BB’s and an ERA of, well…nothing!
August 12, 2022 at 9:12 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195236Nado with the solo tater! The big kids in the teeth of the order are rippin’ it tonight!
August 12, 2022 at 9:08 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195231Real nice work by the lefty thru 6. HPU almost squeezed him to death during Renfroe’s PA.

I continue to maintain that the Cardinals will be successful with him leading off. Redbirds have some winners on this ’22 edition and I believe that Eddie is one of them.
August 12, 2022 at 8:40 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195223Yeah, I was surprised to see that out of Nootz. What bothered me about the play was that it looked to me like he would have been safe as milk if he would have busted it out of the batter’s box. As for Albert and Tony…Well, one is the great Pujols and the other is TLR… What else can you say?
August 12, 2022 at 8:22 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195219BW…Ha ha! Possibly. It’s also Fri. night and I’m pretty certain the young guys on here are probably out chasing the cuties. At 64 yrs. I’m getting a bit long in the tooth to party like it’s 1999, but I was actually in attendance for last Fri. night’s Redbird/Yanks game with my 39 yr. old son and we enjoyed the late inning Redbird’s 4-3 come from behind win. Even though it was a night game, man was it hot and I have to say that I certainly had a bit of an excitement/heat hangover the following morning. I just don’t get down the line like I once did…At any rate, enjoy the game, BW! It’s a good one so far.
GO REDBIRDS!
August 12, 2022 at 7:02 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195212Skinny gate for a ballgame that will decide who occupies 1st place in the NLC. Where is everyone?
August 12, 2022 at 6:49 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195211Nice full slate of baseball in MLB tonight. Besides the Redbird’s game, I’ve got my eyes on Phillies/Mets and O’s/Rays. Everyone I talked to here in StL. were beginning to panic when the O’s took 2 of 3 from the Redbirds at Busch Stadium back in mid May. Well, turns out Baltimore may have a pretty solid ballclub as they now stand at 5 games over .500 in a pretty competitive AL East and only a half game back of the last AL WC spot. Earl would be smiling.
August 12, 2022 at 6:22 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195210Man alive…I just noticed that the Dodgers have now reeled off 10 wins in a row and now have a W/L record of 77-33. That means they could play the remainder of their regular season games at a .500 clip and still win 103 games this year. They have too much money out there in LA…
August 12, 2022 at 5:54 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195208Bike Mike…I like Nootz too, but what did you think about his AB in which he tapped a soft comebacker to the mound and the pitcher failed to glove it cleanly? I have to say that it looked to me that if he busts it out of the box and down the line, he’s safe at 1B.
August 12, 2022 at 5:47 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195207Oh, I almost forgot…Din-din? Cheeseburger.
August 12, 2022 at 5:46 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195206BWalton…Yeah, that and a turn in Mil’s. rotation by a LHP. Still though, I saw TO’s AB’s yesterday afternoon and I’d play Donovan in LF and place him almost anywhere in the order before I’d pencil O’Neill into the 2 slot today. Don’t get me wrong, I’m okay with TO in the line-up, just not batting second. And there’s no way Eddie should occupy the 6 slot. Oh well, that’s why I’m keying this in on the sofa in front of the TV. We’ll see what happens…GO REDBIRDS!
August 12, 2022 at 4:42 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195193O’Neill with an 0 for 4 game with 4 K’s in yesterday’s ballgame and he’s penciled into the 2 slot vs. Milwaukee? I’m not too sure that’s any sort of rational or logical way to make an attempt to set the table for the big kids with the bats hitting behind him. Maybe it’s a typo? And oh…Eddie in the 6 slot? In any event, not even I could have made this stuff up.
August 12, 2022 at 9:19 am in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 112 thread – Friday, August 12 vs. Brewers #195147It’s a long ago and firmly establised consensus among all quality gypsy fortune tellers that it is utterly foolish to make any predictions whatsover concerning baseball, and the simple reason for this is that ‘youneverknow’… Besides, if I knew what was going to happen, I wouldn’t bother watching.
August 11, 2022 at 5:39 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 111 thread – Thursday, August 11 at Rockies #195111stlcard25…Yep, tough to claw back from a 6 run deficit with only 6 left outs in the bank.
August 11, 2022 at 5:37 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 111 thread – Thursday, August 11 at Rockies #195110I’ve seen Cabrerra get touched up a time or two, but I can’t recall seeing him take a beating like he endured today. Man alive…4 ER’s on 4 hits of which 2 were HR’s without recording a solitary out. Ferdie “The Fight Doctor” Pacheco couldn’t have helped him today.
August 11, 2022 at 5:26 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 111 thread – Thursday, August 11 at Rockies #195106Had the right guys in batter’s box. Just couldn’t get it done. Blame it on the BP, I guess.

August 11, 2022 at 4:26 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 111 thread – Thursday, August 11 at Rockies #195088Hey, 64…Haha! Yeah, Molina’s not going to beat out an IF hit unless the entire opposing IF simutaneously suffers a case of spontaneous combustion. I once saw him attempt to score from 1B on a hit laced into the gap by Aaron Miles vs. the Phillies. Rarely have I heard the standing packed house so loud as old “Jetcalves” was motoring around 3B and heading toward HP. He was out, but it was fun to behold!
