Guess I will try these three again! We all seem to have differing opinions on how we grade the lower end prospects! Not a bad thing, just interesting to note. It’s hard to project players that only played the last half of the year in low A or FCL.
Looking forward to a bunch of players taking the next step up and the entire organization improving! Everything starts fresh in February!

There are a dozen or so guys getting votes and a case can be made for them all but only 6 spots left.

Typically after we stop the round by round voting, we do a catch all round where everyone adds a few more (usually we do 5) and then we rank them out as far as people get votes. Are we going to do that this year?

This round ends Wednesday and the last one Friday so a Best of the Rest round would have to be after Christmas for me.

I looked back and we ranked the top 65 and then added names that went up to 92. I believe those were put in order by how many people voted for a specific name. Jumping to five names after 50 would be smart in my opinion.

I havent been able tô keep up with voting but wanted tô chime in on Logan Sawyer. I was going tô vote him # 50 no.matter who.was left on the board Just because his numbers are só immpresive. His numbers would be immpressive for an adult pitching in little league!

I have been intrigued by Dalatri’s impressive stats, but I have never seen a write up on him as far as his stuff. Can anyone give some info on him? What is in his arsenal? What’s his go to pitch? He made a good jump this year as a bullpen arm.

    Grenadier1’s take

    44. Gianluca Dalatri – This one is a bit of a reach based on projection, so stick with me here. He’s a 6’6″ 240 RHP, undrafted FA. He’s a 7th or 8th rounder in a normal year however. He’s had a number of injuries over the last three years, but when he’s pitched he’s been good. He has great stuff with a good FB with movement that I think will pick up a few MPH as he develops just due to getting healthy (if in fact he stays healthy). He also has a plus change up and good feel for a breaking ball. If the CB doesn’t come along he’s probably going to the bullpen. With a little luck and development he’s a legit middle of the rotation pitcher with a three pitch mix who could advance quickly through the organization. The risk here is high, but if he has healed with the time off he’s likely to jump up the rankings pretty quickly.

That was when we had the rookie league teams which are g now gone.

My suggestion is to add five (best of the rest) after Jan 1st and end it there with a job well done.

    From 2022 Community voting post:

Ok, we are going to do something a little different for the last couple groups, as voting has really dropped off. Please vote for #56-65. We will take all votes and put them together to see where we finish up. Could be 70, could be 80.

Again, voting for #56-65 is now OPEN. All votes will be tallied. The deadline for these votes is 8 PM EST/7 PM CST on December 26th, so we are doubling the voting time. Thanks!

So we did vote for the extra 5 (thru 55) and then ten slots which ended up including everyone that had received a vote. Don’t have to do it that way again, but maybe the extra 5 would be good to include. Thoughts?

All three deserve a spot in the top 50. Young, but show great promise. Hard to fit everyone in 50 slots!
Looking forward to Spring Training starting so we can see these guys in action again!

Thanks to Bling and the others who made this possible this year! Will we have an extra vote after the 50?

    Merry Christmas, all!

Holgate should be able to hit, at least in the lowest levels, but so far in two years he can’t hit. I don’t know the backstory there, if there is one.

Dalatri I like. He could have been in the 40s somewhere but I couldn’t work him in. He could be in the MLB picture by later next season if he continues to perform and the planets align.

Sawyer could happen, but I can’t translate Indy results to affiliated ball results. He can get on the radar next year if he translates well. otherwise he is another Grant Black.
