Bling, thanks for your 2nd mention of Grant Black.

I took my young grandsons to many Grizzlies games over in Sauget and Grant was one of their favorites so he’s one of mine too. I am always pulling for the Indy ball guys, but the odds are long. Best wishes to him.

I have some ready if we are going to vote on those! Is there enough interest in going beyond 50?

I’m thinking that the the Community did a great job with the 1-30 prospects. The 31-50 selections were somewhat different than the “experts”, but that has to be expected. I hope that we got it right with the 1-10 and they all have productive seasons.

The choices were very limited. Lopez-Robertson-Dunn. Lopez is more versatile (can play OF) and is a long time member of the organization. At this point does it matter anyway?

Do you think Lopez will survive the winter on the 40-man? I don’t. He and Querecuto, among others, are short-term fill ins. The Cardinals currently have 13 players on the IL so that requires unusual actions just to be able to field 26 active players until the season mercifully ends.

That says nothing about prospect status but it is nice a loyal soldier like Lopez gets his 15 minutes of fame. We often talk about the I-55 shuttle, but for the last three or four years, he was on the Springfield-Memphis shuttle. It can’t be easy to reach Triple-A, only to be returned to Double-A over and over.

It looks like to me that nearly half the players on our 40-man roster won’t head North with the ’24 team. It will be more with probable trades and acquisitions.

Just looking at the Cardinals’ website and their latest
Top 30 Prospects. Chase Davis is #3 and Thomas Saggese is #9. I think I’d flip them and put Saggese at #3 and Davis at #9. Saggese was league MVP and posted some exciting stats, and Davis doesn’t even have any stats for playing professional ball.

Josh Baez dropped like a rock.

We’re into November and no movement on the 2024 community voting? I know that my time would be too limited to run it this year, but perhaps it would be prudent to start things up soon. It’s always interesting to see where folks rank players and we have a lot of new faces this year.
