A question here about Romeri, who was getting the reps instead of him at Peoria?
I can see where a power hitter who hits grounders and strikes out too much is not going to work out. It doesn’t make any sense to move him to AA unless that issue corrects, but how long can he hang around in A ball? Especially if he isn’t an everyday starter.
The other three outfielders at Peoria were Tommy Jew, LJ Jones and Tyler Reichenborn, none of whom is considered as promising a prospect as Romeri.

Reichenborn, signed 2019, age 24, career OPS .709

And yet he wasn’t playing every day. I guess we will see if that changes next season but its not looking too good for him right now.
Perhaps like I wondered, maybe he still wasn’t healthy and needed the off-season to fully recover. He sure was spectacular in July. Good enough for no. 35, IMO.

I think Antico has tremendous potential. His speed is among the best of all baseball prospects. I see him
In a role as 4th outfielder, late inning defensive replacement and pinch runner. His speed could win close games. And on time. I can seee him as a starter.I think he has more to learn at Springfield, but should not lose time to Pinder, Hurst, or Toerner.

Willis, a 2021 draftee will (hopefully) open the season with his first exposure to low A at PB (finally). That is a roster slot needed by guys drafted last year, and if he doesn’t move up he will be impeding someone from the 2023 draft. I get that lately moving at a snail’s pace with the top pitcher draftees is the latest gimmick, but impeding others needs to be factored in.

He received a bonus of around $500,000 and is considered by some scouts to be a potential five-tool player.
I think Cho is one of the most intriguing players in our system. The odds are that he ends up being a Nootbaar type player (which is not a bad thing) but there is also the chance that he ends up being what we thought we were going to get with the late Oscar Taveras. Just a fascinating player to monitor over the next couple of years.
I am not sure anyone has tried what Cho is doing, which is to come out of high school in Korea and develop in the US minors vs. doing it in the KBO first. It could set a trend of be a failed experiment, but either way, the Cards are looking out of the box.

I am not sure how to justify saying anything about Walsh without some sort of knowledge about the current state of his arm. He didn’t pitch after early June, apparently due to trouble with his previously TJed elbow. That seems like bad news indeed. On the other hand, he didn’t have surgery and his 40 man roster slot was not used elsewhere, but it doesn’t seem to have been needed elsewhere. Yet.
I guess we see if he makes it through the winter and into ST, and then see what he’s got. If he’s got what he had, and his arm doesn’t fall off, then I agree we should see him in the STL pen. That is kind of a lot of ifs for a top 20 rank.
