The last few weeks when I have tried to insert a Twitter(X) feed post into a thread it just displays as a link instead of a full picture. Any idea why?
June 18, 2024 at 6:25 am #256763For whatever reason, the code here does not yet recognize X in the URL. So when you paste in the link, change X to “twitter” and it will display properly.
June 18, 2024 at 6:29 am #256764The easiest way to use blockquotes is to first enter your comment. Then highlight the comment and click on the “B-QUOTE” area in gray. It will automatically put < blockquote> in the front and < /blockquote> at the end.
Alternatively, you could just type < blockquote> before and < /blockquote> after the text you want to quote.
(Note that I had to add an extra space in the < blockquote> examples above. Otherwise it thinks I am trying to quote and won’t show the command.)
No need to be frustrated with usability questions. Just ask…
(Sorry it took me so long to see this.)

cardsfan64ParticipantBrian, I can’t seem to access the member forum. Is it down for repair or something?
June 29, 2024 at 7:28 am #258203The forum seems to be working normally. Do you have another browser or device to try? Sometimes, browser cookies get screwed up and have to be cleared. But that can also be disruptive to other logins.
October 5, 2024 at 12:44 pm #268984Hey Brian I am unable to sign into the member forum today. Are there some technical issues going on?
October 5, 2024 at 1:06 pm #268988Never mind. It just worked all of a sudden.
October 10, 2024 at 9:38 pm #269460There is a glitch that sometimes catches me. If I try to access the member forum but had been logged out beforehand, it does not allow me to access the member forum (as intended). Then, after I do log in, my browser still thinks I am unauthorized. I have to shut the browser down and bring it back up to get past it. Maybe that is what snagged you up also…
October 11, 2024 at 10:35 am #269483Thanks
February 9, 2025 at 9:48 am #276151Are there any site settings to allow multiple logins at the same time? I prefer being on my PC but during the day sometimes I only have access via mobile. However, the site appears to prevent concurrent sessions and then I have to login each time I swap devices. I am unsure what plugins you may have for authentication on the site for Wordpess, but there likely is a setting to enable concurrent logins.
February 15, 2025 at 3:09 pm #276585It seems like this was changed as now I can concurrently log in on multiple devices. Thanks for listening to the feedback!
February 24, 2025 at 8:12 pm #277135The downside is that if one does not implement it carefully, it could allow people to share a userid. It is tricky to be supportive but not become exposed to be taken advantage of by less than honest people. And, yes, they are out there.
May 16, 2025 at 7:43 pm #282339Maybe it is a Firefox browser update, but does the forum pages with X links cause the page to keep scrolling up every now and again? It very well could be my browser as I had to re-enable X tracking support unfortunately as otherwise I would just get an obnoxious big box saying X trackers are blocked. I can’t determine if having that box with X completely disabled and not seeing the posts or the constant page movement is the way to go.
May 19, 2025 at 8:09 am #282660The only time I see the unwanted scrolling that seems to be related to X (Twitter) posts is right when I go to a forum thread and am trying to get to the bottom to see the most recent post. It doesn’t persist, though. For that reason, I considered it to be a small enough annoyance to not focus on it.
However, if others are seeing it repeatedly within a page, that would be more significant.
(I am also using Chrome, not Firefox, which could matter. FWIW, I stopped using FF several years ago as it was hogging resources on my laptop. So I don’t have it installed to test. But if it is irritating enough, you might consider experimenting with another browser yourself to see if the problem persists.)
March 23, 2026 at 4:42 pm #303103I keep getting logged out. Often 3 or 4 times a day. Same device.
June 7, 2026 at 12:45 pm #309196Is there a way to update the profile other than using gravatar? I don’t want my profile pic to be shared across various accounts of websites based off using the same email.
I also am skeptical of widely used “free” software like that. It just means I am the product as they aggregate all of your accounts into one location and sell that data to make money. They would lose money hosting a website like that and have to pay for it somehow.
June 11, 2026 at 6:45 am #309522As far as I know, Gravatar is the only way.
June 11, 2026 at 7:30 am #309527I looked into it and for WordPress sites there are plugins you can install that enable local user avatars. That is obviously up to you completely as it is your site.
This one seems the most reliable and trustworthy.
June 11, 2026 at 8:24 am #309531Ironically, I am currently working with my new IT support guy to remove plugins to try to improve site performance and reliability.
June 11, 2026 at 9:12 am #309535Ah maybe you already had this at one point then and recently it was uninstalled. It seemed like most lost their avatar 2 or so weeks ago and I’m guessing that is why.
June 11, 2026 at 9:42 am #309539I will look into it.
June 11, 2026 at 1:47 pm #309574Avatars restored!
June 11, 2026 at 5:29 pm #309588Ah very nice. Thank you! I don’t know why but them missing just felt off not being able to so easily visualize who was who glancing at a post by their avatar
