gscottar – Nice point to say that Owners aren’t going to be under pressure to build 95 win teams any longer. It makes sense. That ought to reduce the intensity of the bidding for free agents thereby reducing the cost of free agents.
It might work out that way but if prices drop that might mean that more teams can afford to shop. Who knows? One thing we know for sure is that the MLBPA isn’t going to like it and fight over the new CBA is already shaping up to be a massive war.
September 30, 2020 at 6:43 pm #142847MLBPA will fight it big time.
October 3, 2020 at 9:13 am #143618Bump.
March 31, 2021 at 9:56 pm #156706Here you go bc, have at it.
April 1, 2021 at 1:58 am #156707Is this a kvetch-up?
April 1, 2021 at 4:53 am #156710Oh, thanks Forsch. Very thoughtful and expeditious.
April 1, 2021 at 8:59 am #156716No problem. It too me all of 2 minutes to find it so it was no big deal.
April 1, 2021 at 9:16 am #156717Everything in it’s proper place, Forsch.
Right? Thanks for facilitating.April 1, 2021 at 9:24 am #156720This thread could be pollution free if we could get back on topic. Thoughts on the offense, bc?
April 1, 2021 at 9:27 am #15672125 – you’re a good guy who’s acting out of character right now. You’re much better in your normal patient, nice mode.
April 5, 2021 at 7:19 am #157034The Motown 5 –
One on DL
One sent down
2 not producingApril 5, 2021 at 7:31 am #157035It’s 3 games.
April 5, 2021 at 8:34 am #157042In 2015, they added Heyward to the Holliday led Of.
In 2016, they still had Holliday, and tried to feed in youngsters Grichuk and Piscotty.
In 2017, they brought in Fowler, and gave Pham, Piscotty, and Grichuk the main shots.
In 2018, they brought in Ozuna to try to bulk it up with Fowler, and Pham got the main shot in CF.
In 2019, they still had experience in Ozuna and Fowler.
In 2020, they didn’t re-sign Ozuna, Dex was in the twilight, and they didn’t bulk the OF up from the outside. Big risk.
In 2021, they went all unproven. Even bigger risk. We’ll see how that works out.

and 18 runs scored. How? I don’t care, and I won’t whine, just keep the 6 RS avg per game and I won’t make a peep.

You bet. Shildt would take 6 runs a game in a heartbeat, and I bet bc would too.
April 5, 2021 at 7:16 pm #157089OF is about 4 out of 36 with around 16 Ks.
Sound about right?April 5, 2021 at 7:19 pm #157090If the Cards acquired Joe Panik, he would become an instant fan favorite.
April 5, 2021 at 10:09 pm #157117Joe Panick – Is that one of our poster’s nicknames?
April 5, 2021 at 11:02 pm #157118No, but Rick Realism is a poster.
April 6, 2021 at 7:17 am #157122OF is now 4-42 with 20 Ks.
April 6, 2021 at 7:50 am #157125Austin Dean had a rough night last night. He looked very overmatched. It’ll be interesting to see if they end up putting Nogowski out there sooner rather than later to get his bat in the lineup.
April 6, 2021 at 11:18 am #157133Should have signed Adam Eaton.
April 6, 2021 at 12:14 pm #157138You would think they would move a guy like Nogowski, who shows some ability at the plate, to the front of the line. But that isn’t how it works. RA hit .300 at Memphis so they traded him. I think we will be seeing what we are seeing for a while. Mo needs more data points before he can shift the SABR spew and find out there aren’t any nuggets in there.

Should have signed Adam Eaton.
Yes, because he is 4 for 16 with 4 strikeouts and at least 1 fielding error.
April 6, 2021 at 4:11 pm #157162No, because he’s been in the majors for 9 years, Forsch, and has a career line of .282/.359/.416/.775.
Proven major league performer. -
