It reached the point of humor in the sense that you almost had to laugh to keep from crying. Every winter a carbon copy article would appear around the first week of Feb. You’d think they’d have been a bit embarassed after a while, but there seemed to be no shame. Such is way of the world at times.
I think Yogi had DeJong pegged. With him it was 90% mental and the other half was his swing technique. Seemed like an over-thinker to me. He probably needed a coach more like Pete Rose. I think he’s the one who said see the ball, hit the ball.

I don’t like the Tyler O’Neill trade. It appears to be one of those trades where, if we are lucky, it will be a wash.

I would have kept Hudson as a middle reliever. That hard sinker would play well with runners on base. But he needs to throw strikes, which is something that was inconsistent.
There are $3 million reasons Hudson is gone. That is the difference between his estimated $3.7 million salary via arbitration and a minimum salaried replacement reliever making $700K…
Hudson can be good for a stretch when he manages to stay healthy, but the bun shoulder will always be there. It sounds like the Rockies are on the hook for $1.5 M, plus whatever incentives are earned. That sounds like a resonable risk for them, and an opportunity for Hudson. It could go either way.
