It reached the point of humor in the sense that you almost had to laugh to keep from crying. Every winter a carbon copy article would appear around the first week of Feb. You’d think they’d have been a bit embarassed after a while, but there seemed to be no shame. Such is way of the world at times.
December 19, 2023 at 11:29 pm #240074I think Yogi had DeJong pegged. With him it was 90% mental and the other half was his swing technique. Seemed like an over-thinker to me. He probably needed a coach more like Pete Rose. I think he’s the one who said see the ball, hit the ball.
December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am #240082Then there are the spring camp “BSOHL” articles. Best Shape of His Life. But if the guy craters later, the stories change to how he bulked up too much and lost flexibility or lost too much weight that affected his endurance. Anyone remember the year of “Thin Lance Lynn”?

December 24, 2023 at 3:34 pm #240298I don’t like the Tyler O’Neill trade. It appears to be one of those trades where, if we are lucky, it will be a wash.
These Bozos keep making the same mistakes over and over again.
I get it that we don’t have a mature manager, so Tyler will do better elsewhere, IF we don’t change managers. But that just means that we have to negotiate better, not just meekly give away good players.December 26, 2023 at 3:06 pm #240372Reds Sign Conner Capel To Minor League Deal https://t.co/7u2fr5SabW pic.twitter.com/o9vEMsNhm3

January 4, 2024 at 12:48 pm #240741Good to see Harry get a deal close to home.
January 4, 2024 at 1:49 pm #240745He gave us some exciting plays in centerfield while he was here. I hope he can return to form and keep making those plays. Wish him the best.
January 5, 2024 at 3:06 pm #240777The Rockies announced today that they have agreed to terms on one-year contracts with right-handed pitcher Dakota Hudson and catcher Jacob Stallings. pic.twitter.com/6EarbczXxI

January 5, 2024 at 3:10 pm #240778I rather have kept Hudson than signed either Lynn or Gibson. Both are no better than Hudson but they are older and more expensive.
January 5, 2024 at 3:39 pm #240780Neither of them have a bum shoulder.
January 5, 2024 at 3:57 pm #240782They still suck
January 5, 2024 at 4:14 pm #240783Always the ray of sunshine.
January 5, 2024 at 4:45 pm #240788Sorry I was too harsh…Gibson doesn’t suck as much as Lynn.

January 10, 2024 at 4:22 pm #241217Has to come into camp on a make-good deal…
Right-hander Jake Woodford is signing a minor-league contract with the Chicago White Sox that includes an invite to spring training, sources say. The right-hander posted a 4.29 ERA in four seasons with the Cardinals.

January 10, 2024 at 7:20 pm #241230I would have kept Hudson as a middle reliever. That hard sinker would play well with runners on base. But he needs to throw strikes, which is something that was inconsistent.
January 10, 2024 at 9:16 pm #241236There are $3 million reasons Hudson is gone. That is the difference between his estimated $3.7 million salary via arbitration and a minimum salaried replacement reliever making $700K…
January 10, 2024 at 10:23 pm #241238Hudson can be good for a stretch when he manages to stay healthy, but the bun shoulder will always be there. It sounds like the Rockies are on the hook for $1.5 M, plus whatever incentives are earned. That sounds like a resonable risk for them, and an opportunity for Hudson. It could go either way.
January 11, 2024 at 1:19 pm #241281Free-agent pitcher Luke Weaver and the New York Yankees are in agreement on a one-year, $2 million contract, pending physical, according to a source familiar with the deal. The deal includes a club option for 2025 and can max out at $8.25 million.
