It may be insignificant, but I noticed that Jose Martinez is listed among the infielders. https://t.co/zXetCsFtnB

June 28, 2020 at 4:39 pm #131741During Spring Training I did notice Jose’s name at 1B a couple of times on the box score.
June 28, 2020 at 4:59 pm #131745OK, thanks. Better for the others, including Arozarena. They do have a crowded outfield.
June 29, 2020 at 9:52 am #131814I saw where Yairo Munoz is on the summer camp team with the Red Sox. It will be interesting to see if he makes their team or not. He could have been a contributor here had he not flaked out and quit.
June 29, 2020 at 10:08 am #131816Yep. Brad Miller’s signing was the fly in the ointment. With Munoz’ departure, Sosa and the other infielders moved up one peg. Perhaps that figured into why the Cards just let Munoz go despite him still having an option year remaining.

stlcard25ParticipantI never felt that Munoz was much of a loss. He was the better get of the Piscotty trade, but was never going to be more than a backup who wasn’t stellar with the glove or the bat. I’m much more intrigued with Sosa, who can play a legit SS and not in the Munoz/Gyorko role.

July 6, 2020 at 7:51 pm #132368The Nashville group is hoping to become the first #MLB team with African-American majority ownership. Former 20-game winner and GM Dave Stewart and Hall of Fame manager Tony La Russa are part of the group, with Dave Dombrowski.

July 11, 2020 at 1:25 pm #132659TBR: Randy Arozarena, Jose Martinez, Yonny Chirinos, and Tyler Glasnow have yet to report to camp. I've moved them off the projected Opening Day roster for now … https://t.co/GhVfzdd9CJ
A. Meadows and B. McKay were in camp, but haven't been on the field in several days.

July 11, 2020 at 6:44 pm #132686In July of 1911, the @Cardinals were traveling to Boston when their train crashed. Miraculously, the team survived and – led by future #HOFer and player/manager Roger Bresnahan – helped rescue other passengers. The next day, they played a doubleheader. https://t.co/F5IffL2v1J pic.twitter.com/P0l7rWqgi6

July 16, 2020 at 7:43 pm #132981Wow, I do not recall ever reading anything about that 1911 train wreck story. I have heard the club called a “train wreck” now and then, but did not realize they had been involved in one. Amazing that none of the players were hurt.
July 17, 2020 at 6:21 pm #133022Former Cardinal farmhand Daniel Bard made the Opening Day roster with the Rockies. He last pitched in the Cardinals system in 2017, last pitched in MLB seven years ago. Good for him.

Rockies might be a little desperate.

July 23, 2020 at 12:22 pm #13341315 1/2 years ago, the #stlcards made IF Donovan Solano one of the first signings in their renewed international program. Over eight years ago, the Colombian native made his MLB debut with Miami. Now he has made the Giants' Opening Day roster. That is persistence! https://t.co/3jthyvRYlc
