I guess I am not big on FIP. Era is what I base things on. Strikeout rate and hits to innings pitched.

Thanks for not invalidating. Been awhile since I’ve been a regular on this and back in the dark ages when I shared running the lists we let folks change from round to round. Hadn’t realized that things had changed. I’ll be mindful of that going forward.
That brings Molina back in line behind Hansen who is more advanced with greater success.
Hansen was drafted in 2022, is now 25, and just completed AA with a 3.93 ERA and less than 1 K per inning. His A+ ERA last year was 3.86.
Molina was drafted in 2024, is now 22, just complete A+ with an ERA under 2.50.
I am not sure I agree with the assessment that Hansen has had greater success.
Granillo tops the list at #23 and Pete Hansen is #24.

Gags, I don’t think there’s a problem changing your order between rounds. Sometimes, posters put information out that can change an opinion on prospects. Also, a poster may do more research that changes their opinion. I think the big thing is that a poster explains why they changed their order. Otherwise, it looks like they are just throwing darts at a dartboard to make their selections.
It is part of the reason I usually don’t participate after about the first 10-20 picks. I don’t feel I have a strong enough knowledge of the entire system to pick that deep in the process.
25. Gurevitch (my 17)
26. Young (my 24)I had Hansen at 35. Surprised he got elected this early but his support had been building for quite a long time here. As I said last time, I wouldn’t be surprised if Gurevitch is the best hitter in the system next season assuming Wetherholt graduates. I’d be surprised if he isn’t at least top 5. I’ve got Young here purely based on his stuff, which is better than probably all but 5 of the guys in the system. That said, I have no idea how I personally feel about him because I haven’t seen him in action yet.

I do think Hansen benefitted from the wide spread of votes for so many guys. He had a few diehard supporters and that finally got him through. I personally had him at #32. Glad for those who stuck with him for many, many votes.

26. Mason MolinaYes I am aware of Torres age but I’m not into age discrimination of prospects. If someone is producing on the field and has not officially graduated then I will consider them. To me being able to help the big league club is the main priority of the minors.
I think Molina could be sneaky good. I saw him pitch in college several times.
25. Nate Dohm
26. Jack GurevitchI have ignored Bryan Torres due to his age. However, looking at his batting stats, I wonder why he hasn’t received some attention. He looks like a contact hitter who hit 9 HRs this year. In his AA career he has hit .320. In his AAA career, he has hit .328. His K% has been less than 16%.
Hansen went much earlier than I thought he would. I agree with LACardFan that almost every aspect of Mason Molina is more impressive beyond Molina’s weight. Molina seems to have the talent to be a good big leaguer, but I don’t love that he has had weight problems.
25 Rincon
26 SequeraI hope Rincon doesn’t get taken in the Rule 5 draft. He and Love would be our most likely losses. Rincon has improved results the last few years. He looks the part of a backend starter.

#26. Jack GurevitchI’ve been voting for Levenson for a while and I’m guessing there is a good chance this rounds ends the need to keep voting for him. Maybe the same with Gurevitch. I have a feeling 25 will be voting for Cho for a while though.

#26 – Won-Bin ChoThe rest of this list is hard to put in order for me. Guessing from the stats we see and how the player has looked, hoping they will grow and mature as a ball player. How players recover from injuries and whether new injuries will pop up – are all unknowns at this time. Will someone take a big leap like Baez did this past year, or will a pitcher need TJ surgery out of ST? I guess what I’m saying is we all use the information we have to make the best educated guess on each player. It’s fun to make picks and see how they turn out the next year, so let’s have fun!
Ethan Young is a great addition to this discussion here. Is he most comparable in the system to Franklin and Roby?
25 Bryan Torres Age isn’t a factor if you can hit. Caeser Prieto can hit and should be getting some attention too. We are giving votes to a lot of guys who never have hit close to these two career levels.
26 Zach Levenson He goes up to the plate with bad intensions. He swings full force but doesn’t strike out at worrisome rates (85 in 449 abs).Was tempted to tab the big 1st baseman (Guteverich) out of San Diego, but instead decided to turn my attention east towards the Razorback State to select “Lefty” Molina at #26.

Sadly, probably. The fact that Chase Davis is getting votes but not Cho is a little puzzling to me. It’s not like he was that bad at Peoria even if you look at his entire year, and he’s still pretty young. He’ll be good at Springfield.
