I think left handed relief was not in great supply. Curious what Raquet can do. I think Raquet and Watson should be top 50 candidates. Watson moved several levels and maintained an above average strikeout rate. And Thompson’s return should help.
Also, our chat about top relievers had me thinking. I think as long as the Cardinals continue to start these prospects they shouldn’t be in the conversation. Roby, Hence, Hjerpe, Dohm, Ellisalt and Franklin from this years draft are considered starters.

My bad, but I’ve had a lot of trouble in “real life”.

I only have Hjerpe and Lin (due to age) a little ahead.

#20. Tanner FranklinFranklin has very high upside but is definitely raw. His fastball is incredible and that gives him a great foundation to build on. He needs to develop some secondaries, but even with just average secondaries he looks like a mid rotation upside. I hope the Cards stick him in Peoria next year to start and let him spend a good amount of the year there developing his secondaries. I would prefer him focus on that rather than even results and just improve his arsenal.

20- Nathan ChurchI don’t care if Hansen is 45 years old and tops out at 85mph. He had a good year at AA and ate his share of innings. I’m tired of the annual hype of guys who spend most of the year on the IL. “Good when healthy” doesn’t mean crap on the scoreboard.
I hope the Cards stick him in Peoria next year to start and let him spend a good amount of the year there developing his secondaries.
He is so raw, he probably needs to start at Palm Beach.

I loved the Gurevitch draft pick. I thought he’d hit the ground running and he didn’t. In fact, he was very mediocre. I still have high hopes. But I had to ratchet him back a bit in my rankings because of it. He’s at 16 on my list but all of these through number 23 on my list are so close.

Levinson at 20I toyed with choosing Dutkanych, a name I’ve not seen other raise yet.
Where does everyone see Blaze Jordan? He turns 23 in December and spent 2/3 of the year in AAA. Good contact and more power possibility.
Personally, I can’t wait for a chance to vote for Andrew Dutkanych IV. His improvement after his surgery puts him in the top 50, or at least close to the top 50, for sure.
I said that, facetiously, back on Nov. 6. But, bolstered by the preceding comment by Gags, and after thinking about it a bit, why couldn’t a reportedly healthy Dutkanych receive votes now based on scouting reports and his college resume. After all, we just ranked Mitchell based on his assumed good health and high school resume?

Isn’t good when healthy the Dodgers while pitching philosophy the last 2 years which helped them win back to back World Series? The Dodgers 2nd most innings pitched was Kershaw with 112 and they had a total of 40 guys throw a pitch for them this year.
You have to be healthy enough to pitch some innings, but talent will earn you many more shots than just being able to throw innings. Those guys do have value, but more as depth and are much easier to replace.

20 GastelumJordan was rumored to be the return for Arenado last spring. It would appear the organization values him. He claimed his 3rd base defense was his most underrated attribute.
He’s only 22 and started at AA last year. In nearly 600 at bats last year, he only struck out 60 times. 19 homers but 99 runs batted in. Hit 270 but .198 at Memphis hurt overall. His power and production actually improved at Memphis despite his troubles.
Like the Baez brothers, I dream on a world where all three hit 30+ dingers next year. At 23 and MLB ready, he’s very interesting with only marginal improvement under that scenario.
