Watching the game today, I thought Kloffenstein looked like a young version of Lance Lynn. So I looked into it to see how they compared. Lynn is 6’5 and tips the scale at 280. Kloffenstein is 6’5 and weighs in at 245. I don’t remember what kind of pitches Lynn threw when he first reached the Majors in 2011 at age 24. But I think Kloffenstein, at age 23, throws more breaking balls than Lynn did when he first came up.
February 29, 2024 at 8:38 pm #243265I recall Lynn being like the month of July. All heat during high summer.
March 1, 2024 at 4:48 am #243272Lynn was pretty much all fastballs, but I get the body comparison.
March 1, 2024 at 5:06 am #243273Maybe we will see Crawford out there today.
March 1, 2024 at 9:18 am #243274Friday lineup at home vs. Mets. Telecast on BSM.
1. Dylan Carlson CF
2. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
3. Nolan Gorman 2B
4. Nolan Arenado 3B
5. Willson Contreras C
6. Matt Carpenter DH
7. Jordan Walker RF
8. Alec Burleson LF
9. José Fermín SS
SP Matthew LiberatoreMarch 1, 2024 at 12:18 pm #243283where was Carlson going?
March 1, 2024 at 1:08 pm #243284O’Reilly seems like he’s getting looked at hard by the Cardinals brass.
Waiting for a Crawford sighting.
March 2, 2024 at 6:51 am #243290It should be admitted that Walker’s “triple” was actually a double and an error. He was clearly pulling up at second and picked it back up when the fielder bobbled and dropped the ball out by the wall. Its only ST, but I hate that sort of thing.

March 2, 2024 at 7:35 am #243292Crawford not listed in the availables again. His job doesn’t seem to involve playing baseball. I know its an ‘away’ game, but the stros are a 15 car ride away so I doulbt that’s it.
Any guesses who will hit the first Cardinal home run?
March 2, 2024 at 8:40 am #243293He is scheduling ping pong and card games. Those things don’t just organize themselves you know….
March 2, 2024 at 9:08 am #243294No TV today
If they hit their first homer today it will be like the #700 Apple TV game all over again. OK, not quite, but I’m trying to build up some drama. 🙂

ParticipantThe first dinger might come grom a replacement guy, like Young or Prieto, in the later innings when the opposition is looking at some of their MiLB pitching prospects if the game is out of hand,
March 2, 2024 at 3:30 pm #243299I guess some NRIs will be heading out once they have somewhere to go, which they will starting tomorrow. The STEP campers will have somewhere to go too.

cardsfan64ParticipantI am calling for the first homer of the Spring to be on Tuesday, which will be my first Spring Training game! Don’t care who hits it, but the offense needs to start to pick it up. I will also be at the game on Thursday, providing rain doesn’t cause any problems. Looking forward to reporting back to you all on what I see. Maybe I will get to meet some of the players and even some of the reporters that I read everyday.
March 3, 2024 at 7:16 am #243301I couldn’t get Lynn worthy’s lineup to post, but Goldschmidt is batting second, which is concerning. I hope we aren’t going to do that again. Also, no Crawford sighting again.

March 3, 2024 at 11:12 am #243306Herrera out of the lineup “as he manages a shoulder issue”. Per Lynn Worthy.
The tarp is on the field.
March 3, 2024 at 11:35 am #243307Is Lynn hurt?
March 3, 2024 at 11:52 am #243308I read somewhere he will start next Friday against the nationals
March 3, 2024 at 12:10 pm #243309Scratchit.
March 3, 2024 at 12:51 pm #243310Lynn and Matz are supposed to make their first starts this week. Haven’t heard why they are bringing up the rear.
Haven’t seen Crawford yet either.
March 3, 2024 at 5:20 pm #243311It’s kind of early, but this bunch doesn’t look like a run scoring juggernaut….
March 3, 2024 at 6:32 pm #243312The lineups have been a jumble of minor leaguers and fringe guys. Now that minor league camp is open some will be going over there and we will get a better idea. That said, its probably going to be similar to last year’s offense, since its the same guys. Youngsters have a year more seasoning, but so do the old guys, so I call that a wash.
March 4, 2024 at 5:19 am #243317The way I am imagining it, the STEP campers now all go over to the MiLB side. They and other minor league guys may sometimes be borrowed for duty with the major leaguers, especially on split squad days. So I am thinking there will not be ‘cuts’ or reassignments to minor league camp announced with them as there will be with NRI guys.
